Over the weekend someone broke into my aircraft and attempted to remove all the avionics, destroyed the panel, taking out one of the G600s and the GTNs and cutting most of the wiring. It's a total mess with lots and lots of damage. Wow. So sorry Patrick. Care to say where the airplane was at the time? Here or Europe? I don't hear of that much, but I'm sure it happens. I'm just out of the loop. I'm sure you are beyond furious. I can't imagine how you even begin to put things back together.

Makes me think I should leave a gps tracking device in something that thieves would also want to steal while breaking in and thieving things. John, yes, I see no way that the value anyone realises ends up being even a small fraction of the installation or re-installation costs. This is a big, senseless destruction in value. I was very happy to get flying post 150h/annual, having dialed in a few things and now I'm looking at a long messy path to getting flying again. From the pics it looks like a mix of screwdrivers and crow bars. I'm so angry words are insufficient.

Guys I'm really trying to keep perspective on this, in that no one was injured or perished, but when a brother (or sister) gets gut-punched like this my centering cam starts to malfunction.
I'm not too savvy on the forum or tech in general, but can someone move this portion of this thread over to one of the broader threads or even a forum that gets international exposure? I know it's a long shot but maybe get the word out as quickly as possible and catch these criminals. Someone needs an ass whoopin (just for starters) and put an end to this crap before someone does actually get hurt.

Dear God, That is horrible.
I am currently in MIA and flying to Stansted tonight.
If there is anything that you need from this side of the pond that I can drop off?

I cannot begin to imagine how pissed you must be. I do hope that somehow you get the exposure online regarding the theft. Maybe worthwhile posting something on the Garmin forums or Pprune too.

Thanks Stewart, I'm feeling gut punched, but in the grand scheme there are many worse things which might have happened. A bit of time reading crash talk does tend to keep things in perspective.

I would suspect that an aviation one would perhaps exist? Otherwise maybe this? http://flyimc.mywowbb.com

OMG Wow - I've never seen anything like this. And in the UK? I thought they were more civilized over there! Unbelievable. Sorry Patrick.

Horrendous! really sorry to read this. Where did it happen in the UK? I am based in London and fly to France most weekends. Let me know if you need a lift somewhere , unfortunately it will be in my elderly mooney.
