Thanks again everyone for the tips, tricks, and recommendations on towing. Give me a shout next time you're coming through wine country. It's not the burned out wasteland the media has made it out to be after the fires. The vast majority of the wineries are open and are as beautiful as ever! The "burned out wasteland" is 40 miles south in Berkeley (I'm allowed to write that, I used to live there)

GUAYMARAL Airport (SKGY) Bogotá, Colombia!!! You are very welcome whenever you’re arround!!! It was a long process, we almost closed on two different 58p owned by two beechtalk members, but, at the end, for budget and practical reasons, we purchased HK2510G which was already in Colombia and owned by a gentleman that we know spared no expense on it.

We're now debating which upgrades come first. Any suggestion is more than welcomed. First the engines... We will be operating from 8400msl and the plane currently needs to fly on the rich side of the mixture to keep TIT and CHT on parameters; So, the first upgrade will be adding Intercoolers, which, would also give us 30hp more, and allow a leaner mixture. The engines have 700 TSO, and props are 0 TSO. So, we think the upgrade to 700 would come later, at TBO to go to U2A engines. The next upgrade choice is not so easy: avionics, winglets or spoilers, or a combination. I can live with the avionics, but glass and new autopilot would be nice. Winglets will improve slow and high-density operations, and spoilers will allow faster decent after crossing the mountains, without reducing power, so keeping the engines happy. As I said, any suggestions are more than welcomed!!!! Open fire!!! Best, Miguel

The choice between winglets and avionics for me would depend on how much you fly and how close to gross weight you fly. The closer you are to max gross, the more effective the winglets become due to higher angles of attack. The more hours you fly, the more you want the new avionics. Tim

Miguel, That is a beautiful paint job on your Aerostar. Intercoolers will, as you said, increase the power output another 15 hp per side and they will also dramatically improve how the engines run at high density altitude so you are on the right track there. Aerostar blended winglets are state of the art and will improve low speed handling, take-off and single engine performance at high density altitudes. The cost about the same as installing a Garmin 530. You might also want to consider the 700-6 brakes if you don't already have them. They are one of our most popular options. Best regards, Jim Christy

Electric door seal pump. 3. Aux cabin heat mod (uses the hot turbo air to heat cabin, which means you can get rid of Janitrol) 4. Aux tanks. 5. 5.5psi mod 6. Winglets.

My first upgrade would be to add the winglets. I think they make a real difference in the operation and look cool. Second I would add 6 puck brakes because stopping always seems to be a challenge on short fields.
