Sounds like a math problem. ;) So maybe 70%. My math is I can’t get that MP up that high, not that I have a monitor yet anyway. Wastegate rigging now in process.

Right here at home. By the book. John did the annual and it’s been great. Adding an aux tank for good measure. That should get me all the range I can stand.

John and I ferried my Aerostar from Chico to Toronto in the dead of winter with no heat, no bleed air and no pressurization. Finally had to land and take crew car to to Walmart for warming pads to stuff in our gloves and shoes.

Despite that he's remained good friends with me. :D

Here are a couple of pics from recent trips on our 602P w U2A's . Running ROP, lean to TIT 1550. No winglets (yet).

Those numbers show the advantage of 350HP U2A motors (more power = more TAS) and the fuel burn (22.4 / a side) it takes to make that extra HP.

No matter what people try, do, or say, the equation never changes. If you want to go fast, you’re going to burn more fuel and it’s going to cost you more, a lot more the faster you want to go. It is what it is.

Also you can trade required runway length for cruise speed, and both for useful load and both for production cost.

Different airplane designs picked different points in the tradeoff space - which is great, since different owners have different missions. But there aren't really overall "better" planes among the mainstream aircraft out there.

The remarkable similarity in performance numbers between a 2020 SR22 and a 1970 V35 bonanza is a strong hint.
