I was researching Lear 31 and 35 and was wondering what is the average maintenance cost per year. I know the big items like 12 year inspection cost about $250,000. Is there anyone out there has any experience in those planes? I am aware those planes go through calendar inspections A-D checks. My dad has about 1500 hours in a straight 31 but he was a First Officer and his boss never told him what inspections cost what except the 12 year. Can someone tell me the average maintenance cost per year and how it compares to similar airplanes in it's class? I have noticed there are good deals on 31A out there for sale.

300 hours a year…average 30 series Lear…

count at least 1700 - 2000 USD maintenance per flight hour, that would include MSP for both engines..and calendar time inspections..

12-year is more like $125k. We just had three planes go through and they were all about that price.

Plan on $1800-2000 an hour, all-in at about 350-400 hours.

How is the hourly cost related to that usage vs 100- 150 hours for example? I'm not talking simple yearly total/hours. In other words what is the contribution of additional maintenance costs above some light usage number? Obviously, wear items (like tires and brakes) need to be replaced more frequently.

What about Phase inspections? I know they go through A-D checks, what do each inspections cost usually?
