Pretty cool. It will be fun to watch this one progress.

I wish they talked in the article about the human factors portion. How will they live? Pressurized cabin and suits I would guess but I don't know if you can pressurize for enough time without a power source. Heat? How long are these flight going to be? I would think it takes a long time to climb in a glider to FL900.

I believe the perlan 1 is on display at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. It "only" went to 50,727ft in August of 2006.

I was in Redmond, OR building my airplane while this was being built at RDD. It's a cool project. They used the paint booth in Lancair to paint it and couldn't fit a single wing into the booth so they had to seal it up with tons of plastic.
