I defer to Byron as he knows the score. But my understanding is that this owner has had the plane listed for a long time, always at a price that is 10-15% above the market. It was above market when it was 1.8 and its above market now. Great paint and interior. I believe it’s also an Avantair airframe. And finally, it’s a higher time airframe and there may be an airframe life limit on these airplanes (Byron and others will know) but whoever buys it will have to deal with that if that’s the case. My read is that this owner will sell for what he/she perceives as top dollar only. Or that he/she “knows that this airplane is worth” and the market doesn’t.

If that’s not the case, apologies. I defer to the experts here. I have heard this airplane on frequency a few times while coming in/out of Houston (it’s based outside Austin) so it’s getting some air time.

Flew home last night at FL400 after the first hour. 4:15 minute flight, landed with 600lbs. TAS 350-362. Temps ISA plus 5 to plus 2 to plus 7. At fl400 the speed is incredibly sensitive to every degree above ISA.

I had me plus 200lbs of ballast. Burned 480lbs/hr pretty much the whole way. Was filed for an airport past Denver then changed destination due to some storms resulting in a 4000fpm descent near the end.

Flew 80% of flight with headset off. Landed just before sunset. Magical plane for this mission. Pre purchase I had calculated I could do this exact flight nonstop with up to a 23kt headwind, which is what it was yesterday. The book performance is spot on!

Absolutely Incredible.

Who has been flying out of BCT?

I have heard and seen at least three or four flights in the last two weeks.

Took the Piaggio pretty far North - almost to the Arctic - to Churchill, MB. So cool that we could do the return trip, 1200+ nm, non -stop, land at my Home FBO and clear customs. Landed with 950 lbs. I really pulled the power back so as to not arrive early and irk CBP. As others have reported, slowing the plane doesn’t do much for improving efficiency. Kind of like on a planing boat, the efficiency is what it is once on plane, regardless of speed.

https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N2M ... /CYYQ/KCMH

Churchill had 3 arrivals on Sunday and we were all within 10minutes of each other. I flew to the most desolate place I’ve ever been and was assigned my first ever hold! It ended setting up a dangerous scenario.

Churchill was just below and just above minimums all day. The only reasonable alternate was my departure airport, Winnipeg. I had enough fuel for 1, maybe 2 misses before diverting. This was on my mind as I was given the hold.

Just before entering the hold I’m told prior plane made it in, start the approach. I was high for the hold and relatively fast. Turned into an approach with too great of a descent rate. It all turned out OK - but I definitely should have requested to do a turn in the hold to lose altitude. Thinking about it overnight it definitely had some similarities to Paascals accident.

Glad you managed to execute the approach safely, and still recognize how you can do better next time.

Was it weather that made Winnipeg the best alternate? There are a lot of airports closer than that.

Today I learned about Polar Bear Jail.

Selecting the alternate was a challenge. Requirements were weather, runway length & surface, and logistical considerations such as "it's Sunday, are they open?", can I grab a car/hotel if needed, etc. Also, the "at minimums" weather was forecast for the next 36 hours.

Thompson met every criteria except the weather was essentially the same as Churchill - at minimums. Gillam looked reasonable to the south, until I noticed it was a gravel runway.

It's sparsely populated up there. Churchill's airport serves what we would consider regional airlines (ATR's). They have a 737 that comes in every day or so with miners from further up north. But it's a couple fuel trucks, fuel tanks and a construction trailer + a 'terminal' building for the regional.

Even though it was a legit operation, it took three days of calling probably 20 different numbers (from the CFS, websites, hearsay, etc) to find the phone in that portable building to confirm JetA was available, hours of operation, forms of payment, etc. Hence, I had some trepidation in tracking down similar things at another airport.

And the Polar Bear jail - it's real. They have about 20 polar bear "traps" next to it for use when needed. They are very serious about the dangers of polar bears. Every time we went somewhere we were reminded about Polar bear safety. It might have been a bit of drama. Also smart to ensure you keep your tourism dollars flowing by not mauling the tourists.

and here is a pic of the ADSB return of me passing Matt in the air. I was coming from Churchill and he was en route to Churchill. I was at FL 200 and Matt was 15000 feet higher than me. That bird is pretty awesome!

Does anyone know the story on this one? The fueler said it had been there for 6-8 months. It seems like it shouldn't take that long to get a PT-6 fixed.

Looks like mine most times I don't take on full fuel! Well, not that extreme, but I have found that if there is any ramp slope or the plane is even slightly leaning one way, the fuel wants to go there, no matter how quickly you close the interconnect. Any operators have this issue/figured out how to prevent it?

Hello everyone! We just secured the exclusive listing on a 2004 P180. SN 1080, ~2,820TT, Engines on ESP, Dual GTN 750's, 5 years remaining until next Gear OH, ~20hrs since props were overhauled. Cosmetics are decent.

We will ask $1,925,000 and the owner will consider offers. I'll be with the airplane doing photos, video and initial log review on Thursday. If anyone has any questions in the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out.

I will often park wrong way on ramps due to this. The sign language with line guys is interesting as they are marshaling me in.

I have, on multiple occasions, got fuel, had them spin plane around with tug and opened interconnect to rebalance.

Also have started engines and taxied on high tank. At big airports this can correct almost 100lbs.

St. Johns, AZ. It's not the kind of place that many people go to intentionally. The fueler said that the plane had a engine issue and made a precautionary landing. That was months ago. I was wondering if there was more to the story. I have the tail number if that helps.
