For somebody that has done the training: What is the OEI handling like?
Seems like thrust lines are closer to centerline than a KA but hard to tell.

Andrew[/quote] ForeFlight and fltplan profiles are pretty accurate in my experience so far. Big difference in fuel burns based on altitude. Mid 30s seem to be the best trade off for range and speed. At Fl40 I was burning 480lbs and hour going 350kts true. Crazy given cabin is so large.

Attachment: 45A25B16-D8C7-4BFE-BF0E-4A01AE62943C.jpeg It is not possible to do that replacement. That said, I have flown the II with the Proline and it is a really nice install in the plane. Not sure why, but it ‘felt’ better than in other planes I had been in with it. Switches and everything are perfectly positioned. Time and fuel to climb chart below. It seems to really like the high 30s. Kind of just scoots right up there. The chart below is for the Avanti I, the II is a little better. I had no problem going direct to FL400 on an ISA +8 day from sea level with full fuel and about 600lbs in the cabin. Also note, this chart is for the original gross weight on the Avanti I. The II’s are all at 12,100 gross, as are most of the I’s, including mine, via STC.

Anthony reached out to me last year when he was thinking of buying a P180, knowing I'm kinda a big fan. I was able to share a POH I had. Not sure if that helped, but to my great surprise, he went ahead and bought a 1992 P180 Avanti this fall and promised me an early ride in it! So this is the pictorial trip report of that ride from yesterday. We flew from Los Angeles to Denver. I'll let the pics talk for themselves, but if a ride in this thing was supposed to scare me off, well, it's just done the opposite. These damn things are friggin' amazing! Anthony and I was just grinning from ear to ear during the whole ride. As for ride, it is whisper quiet in the cabin - I would say as quite or quieter than a jet. We cruised with headsets off for awhile and just the speaker and I could keep a normal conversational tone without problem. Even communicated with the person siting in the back without any problem, barely raising the voice. Cabin is huge, and is just a solid magic carpet ride. Goddamn you Anthony! You've now made me want one even more! Continued..
