No argument from me, the Piaggio is a very impressive airplane and scores extremely well on capability for a given fuel flow.

I might own one someday.

I know, I had to wander in the wilderness for a few more years before I found my way back,

THIS time I know better.

The Avanti does really seem to occupy a nitch that is tough to fill.

The view from massive cockpit glass never gets old either !

Thanks! And yes I remember…

Yes I am Brad. The TTx is the best single engine piston ever made in my book, I can’t give it up. Great for short legs stuff by myself. For the life of me I’ll never understand why truly great airplanes like the TTx or the Piaggio get beaten in the marketplace by lesser products like the Cirrus or the King Air. It makes zero sense other than following the herd.

Congratulations Mark! Who is doing the interior? Is ICJS doing the panel?

Nope. Aerosmith Aviation in Longview. Great shop.

https://www.aerosmithaviation.com

Paint, Interior, Full Garmin Panel.

Going to have Simsair do the windshields and steel brakes when they get here (probably next year).

There is a 2004 Avanti from Poland for sale on Controller.
6340 hours and 9722 landings. Used for medical transport.

I just returned from a week at Flight Safety where I was in class for two days of ground school with one of the pilots from Poland.
20 YEARS flying the Avanti 3-4 flights per day. Dual pilot.
He had nothing but praise for the Avanti.
When he talked the rest of us kept quiet and gave him undivided attention.
His company flies several and has their own checklist for abnormal procedures which is very detailed.

Wintertime icing all the time.
He has lost one generator twice in all the years.
Very solid dependable aircraft and he loves flying Avanti.

I am approaching a whole 500 hours in Avanti with very little issues.
1400 nm non stop to islands later this week.

Oh, BTW,
Thanks again Adam and Anthony

Does anyone have a ForeFlight profile I could borrow? The Avanti 1 one that’s currently on there seems completely out of whack.

4 hour 23 minute flight showing 2087 total fuel consumption in lbs….I wish.

Yeah, that seems optimistic.

There are several built in profiles. Here is the one I use, as well as the fuel bias I apply. I find it pretty accurate as long as I don’t get a real slow climb or early descent.
