A buddy of mine was just showing me the pics of his VW Thing. So cool to think about having one of these down by the beach. I'd want an old beat-up on rather than something perfect.

I wish I owned something like that VW. It would fit in perfect where I live. Check out the prices on the VW busses with the roof windows, crazy!

No I drive a 2006 1 ton extended wheelbase Chevy conversion van with 225k on it.

My kids say it’s my pervert mobile. I have had three of them over the last 20 years to haul kids around.

Now it’s just me and my St Bernard.

Ha - nice Fahrvergnügen from Penman!

Vans are practical - only suspicious if paint job says “free candy” or “puppies.” :hide:

This was on a 5000nm fictional trip. Not sure the numbers are the same for other trips. What's wrong with them?

Depreciation? Yes. A lot? Well, with an under $1 million aircraft (like many of the earliest models now cost), there's only so much less it can depreciate.

If P180 were $4.9MM new and had a Garmin it would outsell PC12 IMO.

Still too strange, I think.

Would be interesting to know how a Garrett powered version would have performed.

Whoa, these Piaggio prices are dropping fast. Multiple planes under 1mm. That wasn’t the case a year ago. Wonder why?

If u can cram a gtn750 in an early one that is a sweet plane though I have heard the quoted range numbers are not realistic. Guy in my hangar has flown a few of them.

As long as we are blue sky dreaming, Adam can you give a quick rundown on the significant model year changes? What distinguishes “early” from “later”, what years had changes in avionics or engines, that sort of thing.

Looks like there are Avanti and Avanti II and Evo variants - what are the distinctions?

Interesting too, to speculate regarding their noise signature then. The current Avantis' noise comes from their props. Are they still noisey standing still? Would Garrets make much difference then, or just make the external noise less variable?
