That is pretty funny.

You will have great weather in t ride tomorrow. Colorado Mtn weather hot but stable all weekend.

I have filled my plane many times and never had it vent from sitting in the sun. Just get the gpu going while you preflight and enjoy the cool cockpit when you fire up!

You are mostly correct. Thank you for the reminder.

In my business pennies matter. Although I am at the point of not having to watch the pennies or dollars as much anymore it is hard to turn off at times.

In my meager defense in 1991 10% luxury tax on yachts was passed by congress.
What happened? Yacht industry crashed. The wealthy thumbed their noses, flew to Cannes to party and mostly bought used yachts until dumb tax was repealed.

Tony,
I have CAA, AVFuel, Worldfuel, Titan
TEX takes none of them and would not discount 200+ gallon purchase

Slight premium ok.....fleecing, not ok

the differential in fuel price will be the cheapest part of your trip… you are in a Piaggio…

Fuel is usually about 1/3 of overall cost (just for the aircraft.. not lodging etc…)… so if you pay 30% more on total fuel cost for your trip, then you are paying 30% more on 1/3, which is about a 10% overall increase in the trip… it’s one trip… nothing burger… or go make an extra stop.. will the extra time and extra climb be worth it? Maybe…

Have fun, great plane

I fly into KTEX a lot. Never buy fuel, too expensive. Kenny knows this. I either go to Nucla and fuel and fly home or I stop on the way.

No way I'm buying fuel for 7 plus bucks when it can be had for less than 3.20 within 500 miles.

Supporting high fuel prices is idiocy. if everyone thought like me and Brad, there would be no high fuel prices.........think about that for a few....

Nucla is a great airport, and deeply underrated. Spent two nights crashing in the FBO while snowed in trying to fly a tri-pacer from Wyoming to Alabama in January. Not my brightest moment. Friendly folk and fair prices.

I've wanted to land at T-Ride every since coming commercial via Montrose here in 2016.
Viewing that runway from the slopes gave me an itch I finally scratched today.

Landed 9:30 am
straight in Runway 9
Calm winds
Narry a bump

clean livN

Coolest looking single pilot machine ever at the coolest looking GA airport in country.

Even on a 30 degree day the single engine climb rates are not bad at out t ride. IIRC a lot of the light jets are not able to leave t ride on a 30 degree day.

So, there's now been a pretty good board accumulation of flying hours and daily use so that we could perhaps start to see a truer operational cost profile?

Has the Avanti been the money pit everyone suggested or is it more inline with the expectations you had? What are the summary experiences from operators here?

It has more gremlins and is a little more than the mu2 so far for me, driven largely by more expensive hull value meaning higher premiums and it’s bigger so hangar is more.

Maint schedule is not too bad if u fly around 200hrs per year. I still think it will cost less than a legacy citation by a good bit on an annualized basis. Here’s hoping!

So 2 Piaggio on one freq today - and they knew each other. Was fitting I heard Anthony speak up today as he lead me to the Piaggio.

25 hours in 4 weeks, squawk free so far (knock on composite here). Mine sat for a long time…so very happy.
