Probably, though I don’t have much trouble with my Mits and I’m using beta every flight. I wonder if the geometry of the Piaggio, with the props behind the main gear, would add to a problem if there was some kind of rough runway environment.

Not exactly sure when it occurred. I half suspect it went unnoticed for a while. I think its been maybe 20 hours since it came back from ICJ....so its not like we are beating it to death.
I've always thought of our home airport as a decent runway (LNS) so I wouldn't consider it rough.
Perhaps its just a bad string of luck and I'll get past it. I think part of it is its so different to the people in this area. Everyone has an opinion about "what they heard".
Anyways, prop comes off today to head to the shop.

Is it just a large nick in blade? Or something worse? I guess there was no way to just file it out like most prop nicks?

Matt, I have had one nick in one blade and small damage to two compressor blades which I suspect was caused by one rock. I'm pretty sure it happened on the taxiway at home airport. That's in a couple hundred hours. My props are back from OH and I'm running it up in the morning. Twenty two days from drop off to pick up. Not bad. On the prop damage I got mine on a taxiway that was damaged by the airport allowing a 100,000 pound aircraft to routinely taxi on an 80,000 pound taxiway. Another pilot has been picking a baggy of rocks up on that taxiway every week for a year. So, I met with the mayor, city manager and director of airports and when the latter kept telling me what a great job of maintaining and managing the facility they were doing I just reached into my briefcase and wordlessly tossed a 5 pound bag of rocks into the middle of the mayor's conference table. BOOM! and then stunned silence. I then pitched the photos of my compressor blades to the director and said "Those rocks have only cost me $3k. Not much money but it's my money. Now, if an engine grenades on takeoff in a P180 it can be dicey with a full load of passengers in the back. If that happens and it doesn't go well, well then it'll be a lot more than $3k and it'll be your money." Next week they had a NOTAM out about the taxiway repairs, instructions not to pick up rocks as that would damage the taxiway and they repaired it the next week. So far no more prop damage...

Well, I did point out that the pilot who collects the rocks was the chief pilot for the biggest billionaire in town. They weren't my rocks, even the one(s) that went through my engine. I was just borrowing them...

I'm getting frustrated with all the downtime Here is how I found a B350i I was supposed to fly in Africa. Not sure how it happened? Pavement edge strike or runway/taxiway light? Previous pilots didn't report anything. In the end I only ferried the plane to Germany where they replaced the blade (and fixed many, many other issues). Never flew that airplane again though NB: Despite what was written and signed by the A&P, that blade hollow was way out of tolerances! Both in length and depth.

The range penalty for step climbing isn’t too bad if you are disciplined about pulling power back to LRC at every stop. I flew 1500nm w a 30kt push recently but had to depart VFR and stay under Fl180 for a while due to ATC system running out of squawk codes. I just followed book numbers and only burned about 40lbs more than my plan of unrestricted climb. I meant 5 hrs for pilot btw - back passengers could be happy for days
