Saw 397kts TAS yesterday in cold temps coming back from maint - a bit faster than book and I had more power to give if I wanted to get closer to temp limit (limit 820, I was running 785). While the I is not a 400kt plane, it is darn close on the right day and not a heavy load (me plus 200lbs of ballast plus full fuel).

Cabin was 10db quieter than seat 31A on an Airbus 321 on the way to maint and 12db quieter than seat 28C on a B737 that was leg 2. Took me a lot longer to get to Tulsa than to get home. :dancing:

Holy crap. Now, I know Anthony, so I won't say "pictures or it didn't happen" - because he doesn't exaggerate. That is fast! Time to head out in this cold weather and see what mine can do!

If I owned a Piaggio and saw 397 KTAS and was still below redline....I know I'd see what it took to change that first digit to a 4.

Anthony,
Your bird is lighter/faster and you have posted 500+ ground speed so allz is left iz 400 knot true airspeed.

Do or do not…there is no try

If I ever hit isa -5 at fl320 or fl340 I will be able to hit 400tas I think without pushing temps up.

Need to check the math but I think that’s .7 Mach at that alt and temp. If she’s clean, shiny and not too heavy it shouldn’t be a problem.

I am done flying for the year. Right at 200hrs in last 12 months. Majority of hours were 1000+ mile legs. A couple minor issues but no aogs. I pinch myself every time I fly it. Fantastic machine although I felt the same way about every plane I have ever had the fortune of flying !!

Hopefully in 2023 the drama at the parent co gets sorted out and the plane gets the love and support it deserves.

For those not familiar above is just dirty paper towel from cleaning props.
Aviation simple green 1/2 with water is what I use. Barely had time to wipe down before turning icy Saturday at 24 degrees.

Now for the not phun part.
Anyone have experience with nose wheel steering going out?
Mine is intermittent but getting worse.

Why doesn’t Dassault buy them?

Granted I am totally clueless on these matters, so go east on me.

EU and NATO contracts should be easy. It gives them a larger turbo prop and twin. The avanti is a fast plane and wouldn’t cannibalize any of their sales.

Kodiak
TBM
Avanti
Falcon

Fits in perfect.

What are your thoughts?

Sounds good to me. Dassault currently sources some of their parts, I believe, so there may even already be some business relationship there.

I think I am wrong, but I do know there is some relationship between them.

Daher was Socata as a brand.
I believe they are a stand alone Corporate Company.

Even have a North American Presence with the acquisition of Triumph Aerostructors in FL.

Daher has built components for Airbus, Boeing and others.

A short Veterans AirliftCommand leg yesterday. I was hoping to best Anthony’s performance. Still had 2100 lbs of fuel and 100 lbs of ballast. Maybe next time.

Still, that's pretty great performance, Matt. And kudos for the Vet lift.

(love the Philly sweatshirt, too!)
