Maybe Anthony, mat or Brad will give it try and let us know how it works?

Jon - that’s a great idea. I have not tried to remove. I doubt it is difficult. I've also started flying bikes with bike bags. They are about $35 and GREAT for personal travel. They're not for protecting the bike, they're for protecting the things near the bike. They also let you put two bikes next to each other without scratching frames and getting pedals jammed into spokes. You may chose to remove the pedals anyway, but I found smaller SPD pedals were no problem in the bag. With my 29" MTB, I have one handlebar poking out the corner of the bag. I didn't bother removing the stem. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H2 ... g=btalk-20

File this one under "if you don't laugh, you'll cry".
I was just informed that the replacement brushes for the ground heater are back ordered and not available until Jan 2023.
This is a 3000HR overhaul item.
Why I have just now been notified about the ETA is a different issue. Its always fun when you ask how the overhaul of the brushes is going since it was sent for repair 12 weeks ago and due back 3 weeks ago...and they say "oh, those parts are back-ordered. Will be ready in 2023". Could have told me that 12 weeks ago.

My friend wrote the FSDO and got an extension on the 36-month spar inspection interval on the unmodified Turbo Commanders and he got it. Twice.

Thanks a bunch this is a great thread. Only that it's been on the market for over 2 years.

Yeah, I was curious about that as to why. We are looking at several pretty hard, but I'm sure someone out there knows of a couple we've probably not seen.

Tom Gresham makes the point that the only reason anything doesn't sell is price. Get that right and it moves. I have lost track a bit of the market as I'm not buying or selling but $2.55 seems a bit rich for a plane with that many hours on it. And you'd have to like the P&I. Interior looks good but I'll bet that paint soaks up heat like crazy on the ramp. OTOH, sometimes when something has been on the market a long time the seller is ready to listen to a "reasonable" offer. A big key with any airplane, but especially these, is the maintenance pedigree.

When I started looking at Avanti's around 2 years ago this plane was listed for sub $2mill, maybe 1.75...

N50JJ didn't sell probably because the listing owner just isn't motivated. Like Tony said, everything should sell given the correct price.
Same with the (2) 2012 Chinese Airframes, P180-II serial 1228 and 1229, essentially not flown since 2016 with less than 250 TT. Many years ago, these two were listed as a pair on controller--I thought I recall $3.0 for both. They want best offer now, from what I have read. The seller claims they are airworthy and current on inspections (but no ADSB) with weekly engine runs. 5 year inspection and Gear due in 2024 (with 200 landings!)
If it was possible to export these cost effectively, one would presume it would have happened by now. Of course the P180 market is fairly thin and specialized so it's possible no one wants to take the time to dig into it deep enough to find the break-even point.
Maybe one of you P180 operators had more info to share?

If some one is interested and wants to invest in these two Chinese Avanti II, I believe I could help in getting them out and fly them back. Send me a PM.
