It’s getting there. Panel is done, did the qual flights yesterday with the avionics folks (and my instructor) and it worked as advertised. Amazing how close everything was with no further tweaking. They are able to shut down a screen in flight, reboot it in config mode, and adjust settings to really dial in AP performance. Flew approaches perfectly.

Couple little squawks to do today but fingers crossed it’s fully wrapped up. Will do a full pirep of the experience once I get it back to home base.

While it took longer than plan, intercontinental jet’s team did a very nice job on everything.

Got it back. Took longer than I thought it would but quality of work is very good and the plane works as advertised.

Very nice traveling plane. Quiet and smooth.

That’s honestly pretty impressive.
Remind me the SHP vs your Solitaire?
Obviously it’s running more fuel so more power and more Wang is a big help.

Can it take off no flaps or are they must-have like MuToo?

Looks great Anthony!

Very efficient, at least in cruise:
580 lbs/hr / 377 ktas = 1.54 lbs/nm

Comparing to the Solitaire:
480 lbs/hr / 290 ktas = 1.66 lbs/nm

Pretty sweet!

You need flaps to takeoff but you put them up almost immediately. On one, it dogs a bit of flaps are out. Cleaned up it climbs away quite nicely.

P180's not known for amazing climb rate. But here's the thing, there's a direct correlation between that and high speed. Thin, high laminar flow wings perform less well in T/O distance and good climb rate, but they offer less drag and high speed. You pick your battles.

I think I did the math in another thread. For economy, nothing in the twin turbine world comes near a P180. Heck, half of the turbine singles can't even beat it in numbers.

Climb rates are better than any other tp I have been in. Holds 3k+ without trouble below 20k.

Today at fl40. Doing 350kts in about 480lbs/hr. Could have brought it back further. Solitaire would have been burning that going 300kts at fl280.

Good to hear. I was told they climb worse than Turbo Commanders/MU's/KIng Air's.

The P180 climbs just as well, if not better than the B350. Not from personal experience, but from working them on a radar scope.
