Looks like a leather working/carving tool.. Hold tool with fingers, push on U with index finger and "steer" the tool by turning with other fingers.. hard to describe...

It looks like a screwdriver. The curved part would rest under your index finger while turning the knurled part with your thumb and middle finger.

Leather working tool is right.

When I was about 9, someone gave me a box with a wooden block of punches and patterns and hammers and all kinds of stuff. The box had several of those in it.

I never could get it to work. Makes me mad seeing one again. :rofl:

That's exactly what it is. As a young teen, I made quite a bit of spending money with this tool making custom belts, lady's purses, and even a couple of saddles. There was a big Tandy Leather store in El Paso at that time. I made monthly trips there. I still have all my tools which includes 3 of these tools.
