I'm a big fan of their products as a happy former DA-40 180 owner but I certainly understand the angry DA-42 buyers.

To be fair, the link I provided was a rare example of that mag giving the other side of the story.

Seems the only reason they were giving another side of the story is because they were under fire for singing Diamond's praises.

I do agree, it was surprising to see a re-balancing of their earlier editorial tone deafness

G58 Barons :23
DA62's :33
DA42's :36

To put that in perspective :
Gulfstreams (all kinds) 120

I don’t know about G58 backlogs, but the Diamond twins are sold out into Q1 2019. That is at the current production rate, which I hope they can increase. The real bottleneck is people.

I saw one in person a few months ago. Not a bad looking airplane by any means, and there's a ton of room in the cabin. I'd be on the list if I had the dough.

I haven't seen one yet. I'll be on the lookout. I remember wanting one about 10 years ago. It's good they're finally hitting the market.

I took a test flight - it's an amazing plane. Extremely comfortable, best fit and finish I've seen in any piston plane, and it feels like a non-pilot could learn to fly it in a day - the engine out is just incredible.

I’m not a fan of the Diamond twin styling. I’m quite turned off by it.

But one taxied past and in front of me at PWK the other day. Seeing those upwards racked wingtips and long wing span with LEDs looked totally sweet in a corporate grey.

He gave me the thumbs up, I gave him the thumbs up.

Burning JetA would be nice...
