Chip- They have the M600 equipment for the sim, but my understanding is that it is not certified by the FAA yet. So we did our flying in the Meridian G1000 Sim for emergencies, with some desktop G3000 work, and in aircraft training. The combination eemed to work pretty well. I don't have any questions left about the M600. Much of the Meridian stuff crosses over, but they did a lot of modification to the Meridian airframe and a little to the power-plant. Had a great instructor Jason Ottariano. Not sure when the M600 Sim will be up and running, but probably up by the time you.. Ahem, get your M600.

After 1 year, what are your thoughts about the M600? how many hours have you flown it, and could you rough-guess your all-in hourly operating cost? See his recent pirep, separate post

[quote="Timothy Spear"} ...A call to a Piper dealer and a Google search give me a price between 2.8 and 2.9 for the M600;...[/quote]
So, if you spend $3M today, in 5 years (and, say, 1000 hours) what might be a reasonable thought for the resale value?

Most likely: "For Sale Price: call" A 2012 Piper Meridian is listed at $1.45M, and it probably sold for about $2.5M, so that's some info. All depends on economy, demand, fuel price. Mike C.

If I had to guess, a 2012 Piper Meridian sold for about 2 mil, with some negotiation. Nobody was paying retail back then. Piper lowered prices recently on all their models, so the wiggle room for the dealers has decreased, but I have still yet to ever pay retail for an aircraft/car/home, but if you like, probably could

So the actual DOC's minus interest on loan were under $300/hr. That is flying a lot of hours though. Fly fewer hours and fixed costs make hourly costs increase, obviously. I tried to keep the Pirep fact based and unemotional. On the emotional side, the plane has been amazing. Piper hit a home run.

I wouldn't use a Meridian as a comp for depreciation. Depending on your mission, the Meridian can be a little range and load limited so I think some people buy them, get comfortable flying a turboprop in the flight levels, and are more likely to move on. Instead I would use the TBM and look at what a new TBM 850 sold for five years ago and then what it is selling for today. I don't mean to offend but I think the M600 does everything the TBM does only 50 knots slower with a tiny bit less storage and for $1.2mm dollars less so it's a better comp.

You own a remarkable airplane, no need to qualify. Kevin
