I am hearing that speed mods can increase speed from 225 to 240, any comments, verification to, not necessary but if the price is right and the results are true, it would be a nice upgrade to 240 knots.

It's my understanding that American Aviation pitot cowl and speed stacks are popular. I guess you could do Blackhawk -135 engines. I have never owned a Cheyenne I but have always wanted to.

Gary,
What model Cheyenne do you have? I see you list a Cheyenne IA under your name. The Cheyenne IA came with a different cowling than the other Cheyenne I, II and IIXL aircraft. I don't know how effective the IA cowling is but our STC doesn't cover the IA. If you have a I, II, or IIXL our cowlings and stacks give you at least + 15 knots.
Best regards,
Jim Christy

I had a Cheyenne I with Jim's speed stacks and the cowling. Honest 240 knot bird. Worth every penny.

Great Info help guys, I will check into this more, Honestly I am surprised and impressed with the Cheyenne (Piper) being in a Beech for 22 years, I bought the Cheyenne to go to Bahamas, Cayman Brac and Isla Majueres, I can live with the 225 but would love to not put too much into this plane and to get 240+ Knots . I like the tip tanks and the 1100M range,

Sorry, I have a Cheyenne I

Brent
I still think about the Duke RTD,
what is your range and cruise speed, isn't range less do to fuel capacity?

I will call you Jim

Realistic range in the RTD with four on board is 750nm. With 2 it'll go a 1000 give or take on your comfort level. 270 kts under 70gph. Easy to manage, and fits in T-hangars.

I wish for a gross weight increase of a couple hundred pounds.

decisions , decisions , the cost for the need for speed, or shall I honestly say: the WANT for speed!

If speed is what you want, then the best Cheyenne speed mod is to sell it and buy an MU2.

Just saying... :-)

Well, yeah, there's that.

I had a I with the speed stacks and ram air recovery, a IIXL, and now a Solitaire. Nothing beats an MU2 for the money.

Sounds like he likes Piper Cheyennes. If speed is what is desired why not a Cheyenne 400LS?

The 400LS is an amazing airplane. FL410 for one thing, few turboprops go there. 6 lbs/hp is very powerful for the weight. 3500 FPM climb, 1000 FPM one engine, 350 knots. 2000 nm range.

Those Dowty Rotol props are super expensive to overhaul. I hear MT has a prop STC for it, though, so perhaps that issue can be addressed.

Not too many made, only 45 of them. I only saw two for sale, $1M and "call".
