if anyone is looking for an MU2B-20 F model.... https://www.controller.com/listing/for- ... p-aircraftI don't know anything about this plane and have no connection to it, but it appears to have decent equipment and quite low time engines so might interest someone looking for a cost-effective turbine twin. It is one serial number newer than mine FWIW.

If you're looking for a great 270kt plane, I'd buy that one in a second. It will cost less to operate than a twin Cessna.

It does have some inspections coming due too. I'd call Jerry Adcock at Howell Enterprise, he's based out of Sparta and probably knows this plane.

Even with tons of turbine, twin, light and heavy time I was told to expect around $20k first year. I’ve insured two pilot mid-size jets for less… Really need to move up from our 421. Rob I've written three lately. All were low-mid $20k range. Very tight market on those I'm sorry to say. "two pilot mid-size jet" is a totally different beast, but even those are double what they used to be (more like how they were 20-25 years ago) Tj

Mine has consistently been around $12k. Just renewed recently. Short body M model. Fastest of the non-solitaires at 290kt true. It will be for sale in one month or so too!

My first turbine job was in a Garrett powered plane (caravan) I prefer them to PT6s, especially when you have the TTL/SRL, plus beta has some bite, and performance in cruise is sweet As someone flying what was once a Mitsubishi product, ailerons are for kids

Thanks for Answering Tom, Yea our 604 has gone through the roof but I wasn’t expecting twin-turbines to be so high. Increase in insurance plus training means you really have to want the extra 50 knots…

Takes some of the fun out of it. Our M model was $7800 when we first got it, still under $10k when we sold it 5 years ago. Legacy policy holders, as noted above, will still have rock-star pricing. New people in the door

Does the 604 have a SFAR like the MU?

Picked up 100 knots going from K model to a C550 . Expense definitely went up , but 10 times easier to fly .

Costs about 50% more per mile. 420 knots make those bad headwinds days not so bad any more. The ability to cut headwinds, fly over weather, and fly longer legs make it effectively faster than the cruise speed increase would suggest. Some things are actually cheaper on the Citation than the MU2, and some aren't, of course. For me right now, it is worth it, particularly since I can sell now and get back every penny I spent on buying it, fixing it up, and flying it. The insurance market for the MU2 is a tough one. It is hard for new owners to break in. The Citation insurance market is less constrained. I didn't find the MU2 hard to fly, so I don't think the Citation is 10 times easier. In some ways it is easier, in some ways it is harder, too. Mike C.
