What is a Diamont? I could not resist. Anyway, kinda cool concept. Wonder if Diamond will ever get any of the new planes into production.... Tim

Cool, I admire Diamond's effort. I hope they certify it.
Pressurized? I bet you can buy that turbine cheaper than a TSIO-550.

First saw this a/c on static display at AERO in Friedrichshafen a couple of years back. Glad to see the program is still alive.

The fuel specifics aren't great, but on par with the Allison of about the same size and just the nature of the beast for small turbines. The weight is excellent, 270 pounds. If this engine can be bought new for under $100K, that will revolutionize GA, particularly in Europe where 100LL is $10/gal and Jet-A is $3. Lots of retrofit possibilities. If I was making a new airframe for the engine, it would be pressurized, retractable, and FIKI. But that's just me... Mike C.

It would probably match up pretty well with a 58p.

It's all about the ability to burn kerosene, especially in Europe. Username Protected wrote: 450-HP AI-450S turboshaft engine That is a sweet looking engine. Looks like a clean and compact design.
