Anthony,

Great write up. It is good to see real world numbers.

Just an observation. The old rule of taking you fuel costs and multiplying by three is darn close in your case on a per hour basis.

I'm thinking this might be a sub $200k bird.

That plane just got listed with Dan Howard in Tulsa, now they want $300K for it.

By the time you overhaul the engine and the clumsy outdated panel, this is over $400K invested.

If it doesn't sell, jack the price! Yeah, that will work...

Perhaps other airframes are like this, but my experience was that PA46's were routinely listed for 20-40% over market on controller. Agree that $300 for that plane is a fantasy (nightmare?)

From what I can see that bird may be overpriced however the market is very strong right now for the original Malibus. The long range is very desirable for those that have that mission.

$1.30 cash cost per mile

Interesting.

The $9k repair was really part of the purchase price. Perhaps the cylinder was already on it's way out too?

Those two really adversely impact your maintenance and repair figures.

Insurance seems high. Is that a Malibu issue?

It worked, the plane sold back then for $321,000. Would probable bring over 400K now.
