That was impressive! I don't see how you can not buy one of those after that demonstration flight. We'll be waiting for pictures of your new bird.

Um yeah. How many sets of brakes will go through a year doing that? Guy was standing on the brakes.

Cool vid though.

Really cool. I read a Flying magazine article last week that said with pilots only in the plane a large ballast is needed for W&B. Didn't like the sound of that. If we didn't need to haul so many people most of the time I'd trade the Pilatus off on one.

I remember a Citation I pilot once challenging a Lear 24 pilot to a race. He said, "you pick the city pair, I pick the runway."

This is true of every jet I have flown.

I have to throw at least a 50lb bag in the nose or co-pilot seat when solo to get just barely inside of the Aft-CG limit. It's not at all a big deal. Even if I am flying the jet by myself, I am usually going somewhere. Just throw your luggage up there.

Was it just the brakes? That approach speed also looks rather slow, but I could not see any KIAS.

And ground flaps and spoilers.

When I was at Okracoke Island this summer a Jet landed there, I think it was a Cessna of some type. That runway is under 3k I believe. I was at my airport which is 3100x60 when some guy landed in a Beechjet 400

Is ice accretion on the vertical fin any consideration? If you just get it (barely) inside the aft limit, how many pounds of ice will pull it aft and out?

I did a demo flight in this exact aircraft last week. We landed on a wet runway and stood on the brakes. Very impressive anti-lock system - it reacted quickly when the wheels locked up on the paint marks and we stopped promptly. All in all a very nice stable aircraft and it's extremely quiet inside but it is not light on the controls like the Baron or our Hawker. Those two aircraft are pilot spoilers.....

Now that type of statement just screws my mind all up. And I would guess the Hawker probably cruises at 450 too. Man once you fly a Baron, the bar is high.
