Forgive me for posting without being able to contribute succinctly until Friday, but it's breaking HUGE in South Florida right now and my arms are like jello. Tomorrow promises to be epic. Daylight hours are for paddling, even hours for plane talking. Attachment: z_SurfReport.png After all my research, Pilatus is without doubt, the best turboprop option, bar none.

Oh come on, down voting me on a true statement.
Please tell me where the potty is on the TBM?

I just think it's sleeker, faster, sexier and has better avionics. I know, I know, Baron men don't do that type of thing I had no potty in our leased TBM. The pilatus will seat 9 very comfortably, fly a long, long way, has an enclosed head, and a better payload than the TBM. The TBM is a sleek fast airplane, but the speed difference is not that much. The ability to carry more than 6 people with a Pilatus and do it for the per mile cost that they do it, is a very compelling proposition.

I wouldnt compare a TBM to a Meridian, very different aircraft. The TBM is a true turbine, the Meridian well... Go visit both plant and check the way the aircraft is built. The piper plant looks like an homebuilt plant compared to Socata in Tarbes that looks like a Boeing plant. The TBM 900 is 330 kts at FL280 vs 280-285 for an NG? Thats the same speed as my C2. Thats a lot of speed difference and probably on the same fuel or less. The TBM is a stronger aircraft with a 266 VMO. Different aircraft for a different market. Then a PC12 wont fit in my hangar...
