I have an A36 and I love the plane. I have several friends in the same place. We have the travel plane for family, friends and high useful load. None of us want partners on our main plane, but to have a second plane for just flying pattern or slow and low would be fun. Looking at the tail wheel endorsement but once you get it where are you go to rent?
Idea was 4-5 going in on a small 2 passenger plane. So far the ideas were a Cub, Citabria, Champ or RV3/4. I don't see me wanting to do aerobatics but flying a bit of stick and rudder would be fun. The RV got thrown in last weekend after one of the guys went flying in one and got a perma-grin on his face.
I see a lot of guys with the Bo plus another. Ideas??

Come out to 0TX0 and I'll let you fly my Champ around in the back yard.

Mark
Once this cold snap ends I'd like to fly down there. I go over there on the way to Hard 8 BBQ.

Paul, I have been thinking this same thing for a year or so. How nice it would be to split a Champ among four people and be able to just go burn 4 gallons on a pretty afternoon or morning, plus get some tailwheel time. I think every airport should have a community cub or champ

My dad had a Super Decathlon for this purpose in the early 2000's. Lots of fun, though a Citabria is probably 90% there if you're not doing much acro. I think you'd want something that can go upside down, i'd imagine someone in the group of co-owners would like that and I'm in the camp that it makes a better pilot (plus, it's on the continuum of "stick and rudder, flying around with nowhere to go")
A friend has a Husky on amphib floats for this purpose. If you have lakes around where you are, that's a ton of fun (and if you have a lake house, there's even some utility)

I am hoping Mesquite will be the home base, but KLNC or other in area is fine for me.
CK, I'm 5 minutes from KHQZ. Bring that over and lets go grab a burger.
Also, very glad to hear that other guys have had this same urge and found a scratch.
