I believe Eclipse picked up frames/engines/etc at pennies on the dollar. If they can get the Canada Jet to market, it will be a winner.
Eclipse will have to show that they are stable and in a good spot and only then will people buy their airplanes.
But it is a good airplane.

I agree Jason. As someone looking at my next plane, its taking a lot of time to sort through. Just the issue of being able to update different avionics suites is creating market variances that make some older planes more desirable than newer models.

Cessna blazed this trail with great customer service for their citation customers. TBM and Pilatus have similarly done a fine job of cultivating repeat business. Eclipse really stepped in it when they orphaned those early airframes. I don't see how any aircraft builder with a name resembling "eclipse" can stand a chance now, regardless who is running it. Klapmeier should have changed the company name to something resembling his own name.

I feel it's going to be super difficult for Eclipse to make a comeback in the face of all the new SP jet offerings. There are more now than there were in 2007. Honda, Cirrus, Embraer, Pilatus, Citation M2......etc.. Lot's of SP offerings nowadays.
I just didn't want to come right out and say something bad about Eclipse because I love the company. The market has changed though. It's much more competitive than it was.

Phenom 400 is more likely IMO. Pilatus PC24 is much larger than the Phenom 300. Also more versatile. It's going to change things. There are too many jets "smaller" than Phenom 300. There's an opportunity to sell planes to guys running Hawkers, Lears, G200, etc. Those things are super expensive to operate and for no real reason except they're the "old way" of looking at things.

"The old way" meaning onerous maintenance schedules? If so, I agree with that.

Yup. It's seems like the coming to Jesus is starting to happen. Just need to get God (FAA) on board with the revolution and we'd be able to upgrade any panel to the most up to date stuff for 25 grand.
