Of those 17, 13 don't list an airworthiness date in the registry, which means they may not, in fact, be built, just registered in anticipation of being built. That leaves 20 known to be built (have airworthiness dates and/or registered to a customer). Due to registry lag, probably a few more do exist. It won't be until some weeks into 2018 that one can determine how many they did make in 2017. Current registry with some big gaps in serial numbers towards the end: 0004 N252CV (C) 0005 N253CV (C) 0006 N1WA 0007 N9943H 0008 N730FA 0009 N124MW 0010 N52CV (C) 0011 N519AB 0012 N234HS 0013 N7776W 0014 2-AEUR (Guernsey, foreign registered) 0015 N617MH 0016 N416PE 0017 N17CX (C) 0018 N954CV 0019 N717VH 0020 N612JW 0021 N623KT 0022 N63MR (A) 0023 N252PT (A) 0024 N993KG (C) (A) 0025 N507SA (C) (A) 0026 N32GK (C) (A) 0027 N735LA (C) (A) 0028 N535JP (C) (A) 0029 N712JJ (C) (A) 0030 N62EL (C) (A) 0031 N401NY (C) (A) 0032 N217CB (C) (A) ... 0034 N3AD (C) (A) ... 0040 N865SM (C) (A) ... 0047 N865PJ (C) (A) ... 0053 N218FG (C) (A) (C) Cirrus owned (A) Lacks airworthiness date in registry Latest airworthiness is serial 0021 on 9/29/2017. They are talking about ramping up to 60 per year. They better do better than that as it will take them 10 years to fill the 600 sold. Username Protected wrote: Cirrus has had a pretty good year, and I'm sure they're looking forward to ramping up in 2018.

They'll keep a close eye on how the price on positions develops before they overextend themselves on a production rate increase. Flooding the market with SR22s during the 04 to 07 boom is what caused used prices to depress later on.

The $ value loss of cirrus aircraft has been as remarkable as the success of the company. Rarely talked about. At times got to looking like a throwaway plane the losses were so bad.

At times got to looking like a throwaway plane the losses were so bad. I don’t think that’s accurate. They have raised the new price consistently to protect the market and to survive. I bought a new 2004 G2 SR22 for $330K. That plane today — 13 years later — is about $190K. A 2014 G5 model that sold for $700K new is still about $600K.

All within a couple points of each other. Cirrus just appears bad because each generation they have raised the price, in some years the price hike was very price hike was very significant. Tim Edit: Arlen give hard numbers as an example

To a non-cirrus guy, it just looks like a slightly used cirrus is worth peanuts compared to a new one. Same basic capabilities but a world of diffference in cost.
