AIN online has a more detailed article on the changes in G2: https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news ... -certifiedMost notable new thing, cabin diff up to 7.1 PSI to preserve 8000 ft cabin a FL310. Time will tell if the experiment with Lithium batteries goes better than every other manufacturer who tried it. Mike C.

I'd characterize the upgrades on G2 as substantial. A little surprised they came out with G2 so soon after the initial deliveries. I presume getting the early position holders up in price was a contributing factor.

I'm sure they have mapped out the G3 fixes already. Quote: I presume getting the early position holders up in price was a contributing factor. I think this was the prime motivation. Cirrus would have been in serious trouble delivering 500+ planes below cost. Now they can shake the order book down and while it may shrink somewhat, they won't be losing money on each one. Mike C.

They built the first SR22’s with so many deficiencies that they had to turn around and build a G2...

....and then a G5
...and even a G6! Ha. Yeah. What a scam.

Also, note this quote in the article: "The backlog is 540 jets, but prospective buyers don’t have to wait years to get one, Bergwall said, as some earlier slots are usually available. Cirrus can also increase the production rate if the market demands faster deliveries." If you are an SF50 position holder, how does that make you feel? Your plane is delayed while new sales cut in front, and Cirrus doesn't think you want the plane yet so production is slower. One would think folks who have waited 5000 days would kind of like to get their plane before they are unable to use it. Translation: Cirrus cares more about new sales than exiting deposit holders so they make it sound like new customers can get a plane quickly. Mike C.

And over in the real world (witnessed on COPA), where there are many jet owners and position holders, oddly I don't find the attitudes you describe. Not even with the G1 owners, one of which took delivery literally less than 10 days before the announcement. The Cirrus-hate is strong with this one.... To the point, it's just weird.

They even love it when Cirrus renegs on the contract and ups the price nearly $1M. I'm not as influenced by marketing as many, so I'm basing my views on the hard cold specifics of the product. The loyalists can't understand it. The opposite of me would be a person with an SF50 in the hangar, a Tesla in the garage, owns every iThing from Apple, wears Nike shoes, and drinks Starbucks.
