Jeff,
That is an incredibly valuable post. Thank you. My O-rings are replaced at every annual, but I have noticed, recently, a somewhat uneven fuel burn. That could have been some inattention on my part to keeping the ball centered, which is no easy chore with an Aspen.
At any rate, I'm going to make the modification to my airplane.
Again, thanks. Hell of a note to learn more on BT than an A* forum.

Jgreen N900AK is still in the avionics shop getting a panel upgrade, but I will take a couple pictures of the cap installation to post next time I'm down there. I have been promised I will have it back soon... Jeff

Tom,
Your airplane looks great. The paint job is very similar in design to mine. I think I have asked this before, but maybe I just thought about asking. What will your airplane cruise, flat out, at 8,000'?
Jeff, pics would be appreciated.

It has to be cleaned up Walter. The lower panels have to be re-made and there is a lot of labelling to do.

Who is the "Go To" guy for an Aerostar pre-buy?

Hi Forrest,
In the B58 world, it is Don Lawrenz (so I've been told :-)
I live in AUS, but if I decide to go the A* route, I would probably pay to have the very best travel as needed for the pre-buy.

There are good guys in Connecticut, New Jersey, Alabama, Utah, Idaho and California. Normally the plane would be flown to them. If the plane has been maintained by one expert it is a good idea to have a different expert do the prebuy.
