A 550 burns 14 to 17 gallons an hr. Loaded as heavy as he was, lower altitudes, minimal tail winds, 8000 miles, average speed less than 190 knots 38 hr flight, I'd say he landed on fumes?

He couldn't have burned fuel at that rate if the aircraft was configured as shown in his builder's log. His long range expedition configuration consists of 443 gallons. My calculations show his flight was about 39 hours 16 minutes. But as you said, "he landed on fumes." While watching his progress, I thought for sure he'd have to land short of KJAX.
