I just want to say that I personally know several law enforcement folks, and they are all exceptional individuals. That being said, when we let our government pass the Patriot Act unread, and then create and empower DHS and TSA, we invited the behavior we're seeing now. How many on here helped suppress dissent of our government while this was being done by calling the dissenters un-American and unpatriotic? I would say most of the folks complaining about the state we're in supported getting us here. We have the government we deserve.

According to 'those people', it was the minority in congress that pushed those laws through in their evil quest for world domination (right after they repealed the Glass Steagall act ) .

There is this famous saying "All power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely". I have met some persons who graciously accept they have made a mistake but this is so rare that I cant remember the last time I met someone like that.
Police officer and TSA agent have plenty of powers and they use these powers when they want and as they want. So, I repeat again "All power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely".

You could carry a 337 stating that N222XX was authorized to increase c from 3.0 * 10^8 m/s to 3.3 * 10^8m/s and they wouldn't know the difference. Unless you ran into one who also happened to be a pilot.

Tasers = no big deal?
Point a Taser at a police officer and you will likely be shot and killed.
Done deal, no appeal, no big deal. You get the big dirt nap.

Personally, I'll take getting tased by a cop over getting shot any day. Simple fact is that tasers are non-lethal devices (unless you have other serious health-problems). If you think it's OK to shoot a cop because he's going to tase you, you're in for a rude awakening. YMMV.

The point is that cops think Tasers are a big deal when pointed at them, and they will kill you, even though they claim it is a non-lethal tool.
Better than being shot? Yep.
But search Youtube for videos of the misuse (clearly) of Tasers. Hey, let's just keep zapping him while he flops around on the ground. If he would stop flopping, we'd quit zapping him. OH? He can't stop because he's being zapped? Man, it sucks to be him.
No, I wouldn't shoot a police officer for use of a Taser or anything else I can think of.
A non-officer? I'd do exactly what a cop would do.

Well, that's exactly what our friend has suggested.

Someone needs to get Jim Inhofe (R-OK) involved in this. Supposedly, after his 709 (when he should have had an ERC), he realized the disparity in how pilots are treated and is said to be working on a "Pilot's Bill of Rights" to fix it. Maybe he'll go to bat for G.A. pilots in the B.S. search realm, too.
