PC-24 - More range, more payload, and looks like additional passenger environmental controls. All will be some nice improvements that customers have been asking for. Additionally, looks like there are new options for a side facing couch, entertainment system, and some cabin noise reductions. A big plus would be reducing noise from the hydraulic brake accumulator. From a noise standpoint, everything else is pretty quiet.
I’ll be interested to learn how they achieved more payload. As it sounds in the video, they reduced the empty weight. Was the payload increase from a weight reduction alone, increased flight envelope testing, or a combination of both? If all of the 600#s in increased payload came from a weight reduction, that would be impressive, and I’d think runway performance would also have some nice improvements.
I think the Ascend and PC-24 are likely direct competitors. The Ascend requires 2 pilots and likely doesn't have the runway performance the 24 has, nor is it single pilot approved. However, it its faster, and has a dedicated APU. Probably just what NetJets needs (and help design).
