I can't believe you guys don't compare getting in and out of em. That's my acid test. I want an airplane that is easily donned. Then goes like heck! Both the Mooney and Bo are great airplanes but the Bo is easier donned.

My kind of flying trip Dave! I've put 2 uncoupled tandems in the back of our 206, one road & one mountain. 1500nm, but that was 4 legs over 1.5 days.

First, I have my own bike and I don't need my wife to peddle for me (joking) How long is the tandem (as pictured) although my wife says NO way she will do one :-) She does ride her own single many miles though.
And yes, I can do 3 bikes, 3 people and luggage, 900 miles would be wind dependent though, however far full fuel will get me. Balance, no worries there. I would have to work to be out of balance and then it would be hard. I've never hauled more than two bikes but also have never removed the rear wheels either. Wheels and seat posts off, no problem. I might leave the dog at home though.
I am willing to take bets and do the mission. It wouldn't be cheap though. Mine's a gas hog :-) Ballast instead of souls for passengers.
In any case, props for calling my BO slam out.....it took long enough

Just wait, next someone will show us all up and post a picture of a Pilatus carrying an entire bike racing team, including their bikes, mechanics and support van.
Okay, maybe not the support van....

Okay, maybe not the support van.... I know a guy who has a ramp and two Harleys in the back of his Pilatus. That's certainly a way to travel in style.

It is all about NM/hour/gallon/cost of engine overhaul. Nothing else matters. And what Dr. Tavis fails to mention is that he too used to be one of those lying Mooney aficionado's. Maybe since owning a Banana he has seen the light but at least for quite a while he was in the cult and singing the Mooney praises LMAO
Let me be clear. I love Mooney's. If it were only me and one other person and our stuff, I would still have a Mooney. I think there is a measurement at the elbow where some Mooneys may be slightly wider. We just justify things like interior room when that is not why we bought a Mooney. I really like they way they fly, interior room is fine for my needs with me and one or two others, you can't beat the economy of operations, they are very speedy per gallon of fuel, built like a tank, lack any serious vices, and are one of my favorite brands. When it comes to a growing family and the need to haul a metric butt load of people and bags, it is hard to beat a Twin Bonanza.

Under 6' with no wheels. Leave the rear wheel on and it's under 7'. In the 206 I can leave a rear wheel on; limit is the brake hoods getting close to the rear window.
