There are other places with cheaper fuel and seemingly equal or even better service, for example KAPA where fuel is 30% cheaper, about $2. How close were you to making this non stop? Was this from KLAS or somewhere else? KLAS to KCMH is 1539 nm and would be with a tailwind. Surprised if the II can't do that. Mike C.

KSDL to KCMH. About halfway. 12,000 foot runway. CAA. They can turn us is 20 min. We may have been able to make it. But it would have been close. We departed at 3AM. This broke the trip up.
Finally..OPM

I'm collecting real world examples of such flights, so forgive me if I ask a few more questions. 1442 nm great circle. Should be near zero traffic issues at the time of the flight. Looking at the 550 operations manual, the range chart for FL390 shows: Attachment: 550-fl390-1450nm-range.png Seems to say you will need about 3940 lbs of fuel leaving just over 1000 lbs reserve. I did it at FL390, no tailwind, and not LRC, all of which you may be able to improve on. Time was not bad at 4:45 either. The passengers would probably sleep through the whole thing. I understand there are other issues besides fuel that come into play, such as weather at CMH, or not enough payload left over with full fuel, etc, but it seems like the plane could have made this non stop comfortably according to the book. Is the book so optimistic as to be unobtainable? I'd be curious how you flight plan the II and how close to the book you are willing to come. Quote: 12,000 foot runway. CAA. They can turn us is 20 min. If speed was the objective, then non stop wins even if you have to power back to LRC. Curious, do you ever consider not using TRs on a 12,000 ft runway? Quote: Finally..OPM What a powerful drug it is. Detox from OPM can be brutal! Given OPM, why aren't you flying a V. :-) Mike C.

Jet A $7.60. F that. Sounds fine with OPM. With MYM I use MTN for that area.

Ha. This leg was on me. But even with OPM there is a level of reasonableness.
