It's all good Sean I'm sure the question is an exercise run by many getting into that class of business .....

Chute vs no chute, single vs twin, is night IFR single safe, pro vs owner flown safety, best twin, TBM vs Pilatus, how much for insurance... All those factors apply to the SF50 and its potential success and should be discussed. Mike C.

That's what I thought. Sheez, saw that and started to look at the Eclipse. That's impressive in my humble opinion.

Made even more impressive considering a good number of Eclipse pilots are piston transitions. The thing that washed out Eclipse pilots was not being a twin or FL410, it was basic instrument skills and airmanship at 300 knots. The SF50 will be no different. The point is that any pilot that can handle a 300 knot airplane can handle two jet engines. Mike C.

I'm not understanding why the speed really matters. It's not as if things are happening so fast at 300KTAS that you're not still sitting around looking at gauges most of the time waiting for the next instruction, and if you did get overwhelmed by the speed, couldn't you just throttle back?

Agreed. It's no big deal.

Agree. The speed in cruise really only makes a difference as to how long you sit there bored. It's an ego thing to say you have to be a great pilot on top of your game to handle 300 knots. BS. It all comes down workload on arrival and departure. An autopilot and a second pilot make it a breeze.

there's a poll - currently
67 percent predicting success 31 percent predicting certified but a failure and one guy who thinks it won't get certified. Thanks guys! My vote is in.
