If they wanted to mount the engines to the wings, they should have made the airplane a high wing and slung the engines underneath. Oh, but then it would look like an MU2 with turbofans. Now there's an idea....... The prototype that was built at Starkville, Ms when I was working at the FBO there was a high wing, but they still had the engines on pylons above the wings. It looked like an aero commander that someone was trying to make into a jet powered amphibian. The first flight was an accident. The thrust line was so far above the CG that the test pilots were holding a huge amount of back elevator to keep the weight off of the nose gear. When they pulled the power back after a high speed taxi test, the result was that they didn't get the elevator relaxed quickly enough and the plane shot up to about 100' almost instantly. The guys then put a little power on and eased it back to the ground to the cheers of all the Honda R&D guys, who were all Japanese. It was quite an unusual sight for rural Mississippi.

I think it would have been better if the encounnter was friendly without any intimidation. Who knows Jason was even a prospective customer for them one day. They are so secretive the they put the company name on it, clever. Go to flightaware and add you grinnin' mug photo to their N-number. http://flightaware.com/photos/view/1525 ... ate/page/1

There is no one here who is not secretly lusting after it, well unless they have too much money anyway Lanny, you asked for it.

There is no one here who is not secretly lusting after it, well unless they have too much money anyway Lanny, I want to disagree with you respectfully. I love airplanes but the HJ looks like it fell down the ugly tree and hit every branch. I have seen pics of the plane but never had a good view of the engine mounts from the back. That view is very revealing and now I know why there were no public pictures from that angle. As for the Bonanza, I fell in love with the look of the Bonanza long before I knew much about aviation. It seemed like such a pretty form. I can honestly say that I am not lusting after the HJ. If Honda gave me an HJ, I would trade it promptly for Jason's PC12 NG in heartbeat. I am sure Jason can get by with a lowly G36TN

My client and I tried to talk to the Honda people in Atlanta a few years back at NBAA. They were more interested in promoting their little robot than the airplane. My client could have built that silly ass robot in his garage in an hour. Needless to say, he flies a jet other than an HJ. He'll never give HJ a second look...ever! The trend appears to continue...
