Any idea if that would look good on a Bonanza? Anyone seen something similar on a Bonanza?
Just curious. FWIW I believe the paint scheme was done by Scheme Designers http://www.schemedesigners.com/ They have lots of samples

Username Protected wrote: Doug you have a very nice 414 that will get in and out short fields at max gross. The R/STOL will help with an engine out and at low speeds. Do you have the stainless steel crossfeed lines and the engine beam blankets, these are important safety items ???
Thanks I not sure on the SS crossfeed lines and looked as closely as I could with just cowls off at beams but don't remember a blanket. I'll add them to my list. Thanks Doug
Doug look in the logs and ask RAM. The engine beams are hollow and if you break and exhaust manifold and the gas gets inside the engine beam it will go straight through the fire wall and the cross feed lines are right there?? There is no way to shut the fuel off if this happens and you have a fire you can't stop. The stainless lines will take longer to burn and the engine beam blankets (fire proof) will keep the exhaust gas from getting inside the engine beam. I put these on my Ram seven 340A because I did not want a fire in the wing at altitude that I could not put out.

Makes sense, I gave copies of the logs to my Mechanic to ensure that the import into Canada will go smoothly, I'll look when I catch up to him. Can the blankets be added easily if they're not installed or is it a big job? Thanks again

Doug, The Blankets should have been put on when the RAM SEVEN engine conversion was done. Ask Ram about putting them on now after the fact. Your seller or somebody spent lot of money on the R7 and they most likely put the blankets and stainless cross feeds on.

Just sayin'
PMC Thanks Paul That my thoughts also, the Ram 7 conversion is within last 4 - 5 yrs and the latest owners appeared to have spared no expense.

Make that a couple of months Doug, your being optimistic! TC is not that fast, make sure you have all STCs or you will have to hunt them down or pay for it. Have fun, have some nice flights. The prebuy and export C of A went well and money is sitting in escrow. My plan is to fly 8 - 10 hrs with pilot in US and then for both of us to head for Canada. Once we get to Medicine Hat he'll get back to Seattle area on a commercial flight. It will likely take a couple weeks to get the import C of A completed. Hopefully the plan works!

Marc beat me to it, I was also going to say at least 5 to 6 weeks and also make sure you have all the required " informationary" or "caution" decals stuck on all the right places - I waited ten days just for the inspector to come out to approve the aircraft once it was ready. Great aircraft though - my buddy here has one of the last 414's ever built- congratulations

Marc & Dennis Thanks for you experience, kind of... We have done a lot of stuff already and Ministers Delegate is coming early Sept. We have already verified all STC, ADs, SB's etc. So our expectation is for a quick one but if its 5 - 6 weeks thats OK. At least I can polish something and pretend to fly. Dennis: I believe that I looked at the 414A that you mentioned. Its was a nice clean aircraft but the broker who had it listed and I have had some history that was less than good.
