Oh, I was just BSing and having some fun. My point is all of us spend a lot of time doing comparables, which is great. But, I understand why someone would want to fly an Eclipse even with its issues. It is cool. When you get your PC12 is it going to be all loaded up with 6-7 people and bags on every trip? Probably not, but it will be a ton of fun and will fill many pages here on BT.
I fly alone in my Baron 75% of the time. Probably should be flying a C182 and that may be the case some day. I just like flying my Baron. I like talking with people about my Baron and I like pulling up on the ramp in my Baron. All the other stuff TAS, LOP, single engine safety, and gasoline cost is just noise to me.
If I have the money someday I would like to say I owned and flew a C90. There are people out there who say the same thing about the Eclipse and PC12. Don't need it, but I want it.

The point is the Eclipse costs the same as a Mustang. The Mustang is bigger and faster and runs on the same fuel flow. So, why choose to drive a VW Beetle when you can drive a Turbo Porsche for the same price? I want a PC12 because of the utility I get for the money. Nobody is maximizing their dollars with an Eclipse. If the asking price on the Eclipse were $1 million, I'd agree with your statement.

Someone is either getting a deal on a Mustang or paying way too much for an Eclipse. Same fuel...!!!??? Where did these stats come from?

You think it's ridiculous to buy an eclipse, some think it's ridiculous to have 700k into your G36 when an early model A36TN is faster and has more useful load, for 1/3 the price. Let what go? Are you talking to me? I didn't bring it up again. We're not supposed to compare planes here?

Ha, I know. I feel like I'm treading lightly but constantly get blasted.
The thread was started to get opinions regarding the Eclipse. I gave mine.

There's a new Garmin unit. There's been exciting pending news from OEMs regarding the RR500, "stay tuned," there's crap coming out of cezzna. Message to aviation related companies: Please, stop talking about upcoming announcements...and start making announcements. Someone made a thread not long ago for all the "pending announcements in the aviation industry". There were a bunch of them.

I was reading this thread and remembered a flyer I got today for Execjet based in KADS (Addison, TX) fractional Eclipse ownership. I expect this is the group that Dave is talking about. 1/4 share buy in is ~$570K, $2.2K per month (includes, taxes, insurance, hangar, etc.), and $360 per flight hour. These are for the refurbished jets with RVSM, etc. I believe they rotate aircraft among owners, so theoretically you have 100% availability. As much as I hate to say it, the math isn't bad assuming that this number truly covers all cost (which I would be suspicious of). 100 hours a year at ~$60K or $600 per hour all in for a jet!

Looks like the Mustang burns about 20-30gph more than the E-500. FF at what altitude? Eclipse quotes FF based on 41K'. The Mustang does not. You'll never get to 41K' in an Eclipse.
