Many faiths out there, pick the one you like. But, there are data on the warming part, and yes it is getting warmer, has been for some time now (where I live used to be under about a mile of ice). Massive thread drift underway here.....

Yea, and Greenland used to be farmed before it froze over. I guess the Vikings screwed it all up since they drove them big diesel powered yachts? And this data, how long has it been accurately collected? The world survives millions of years and now we screw it up in 100 years or so - come on, stop drinking the Kool Aid.

But I think they should institute more "radio skills" in the PPL. I hate when guys don't know how to use the radio.
Honestly, I wasn't very good at radio until I came across a CFI that was psycho about "speaking properly" on the radio. It truly changed my flying.
I don't know how to tell people they suck on the radio. How about "you suck on the radio,". That should get the point across.

Those values plus the warming trend are why you can build a model where they are related via cause/effect. Clearly we are doing the experiment to test the models, just won't know the answer for quite a while. But plenty of folks have "faith" in complex computer models. I used to write them (not climate ones), so you know where I stand. Do any of the computer models include water vapor since it has very high global warming potential? To my knowledge they do not. And reference Dino's post re: low level atmospheric warming which must occur if the "greenhouse effect" is real . . . and apparently it's not. Again I will quote the Illinois State Museums website: "During most of the last 1 billion years the earth had no permanent ice. However, sometimes large areas of the globe were covered with vast ice sheets. These times are known as ice ages." Is polar ice normal or not??? Could it be that we are in a "natural" cycle coming out of an Ice Age, if indeed the temps are increasing and not decreasing? Or will I get sent straight to Hades for being a non-believer and be forced to sit next to Jason for eternity?

Well then again maybe it wouldn't be obvious where I stand, but anyone who has written complex computer models knows that you can make them do whatever you want, it is only where you have some really tightly defined data and well understood processes that you can rely on them with any confidence, and then really only inside the box defined by existing data and process (ie extrapolation is much dodgier). Folks who are certain they know the truth about our global climate, and how what we have done, and will do, has and will affect it, are basing their certainty on faith, same as single vs twin. (Jason, you can measure CO2 content from air trapped in ice cores, as a decent way to sample the atmosphere from a long time ago. But like anything of this sort, there are always uncertainties). And I think this may take the prize for thread drift ! ! !

Riiight. CO2 trapped in Ice Cores contain all the answers. Thank you Jesus for delivering this irrefutable and factual evidence to us!!!
