lamborghini colors are crap, don't go that route- Ferrari or Porsche have classic colors that have some history/heritage
if you're looking for a red, rossa corsa or rossa dino
i like that you are putting that level of though into it though, since most of your body is continuous panels, you could explore a three stage paint which a lot of planes aren't really able to do due to different panels and sections resulting in various finishes
i wanted to do a bianco fuji pearl white but my paint shop said without shooting it all in one go, it would not blend well at all.....i lust after an evolution for a lot of reasons, being able to do fancy multi stage paints is one of them Are you saying Lambo colors are crap because they don't hold up or you just don't like their colors? Personally I love this color. It's orange, not red. Right up my alley!
it's a personal opinion of mine, their colors have no personality or distinguishment- if you find one you like, DO IT!
we could geek out and pull out paint samples, but you can usually pick out the ferrari & porsche finishes, even mclaren- lambo is just yawn
and since you love orange....seriously take a look at the rossa dino color from ferrari, and read up on it's history, they selected it because of how it rendered on black and white TV, it made the car stand out from the rest of the cars, really neat to read about
it DOES look orange in person, I think the formula one team used that color for a season or two recently as a tribute
disclaimer: i'm a ferrari nut, so i'm extremely bias

Yeah, I honestly do not care about heritage at all. Sorry, it's just not my thing.
I love the Lambo color. The Ferrari color is nice but it's just too plain of an orange IMO. The Lambo color shifts with lighting which again, is right up my alley.
Disclaimer for me. I've always liked Lamborghini's. Ferrari's always looked too plain for me. But then again, I'm way more of a classic car person, but I'm into resto mod's, not original stuff.
Thanks for the input though.

I'd rethink the white leading edges, you want to be able to see any ice ASAP. On LT, a Legacy owner with white wings reported significant speed loss while he still couldn't see the ice on the wings.

Heh heh, Luc's bird has none and it's the most recognized airplane here.
I think that paint scheme with a little carbon trim pieces here and there is just pure awesome.
I'm enjoying the process.......looking forward to seeing the finished product. I really, really like the Evolution. After seeing Todd's Glasair, I believe it would be my plane of choice once I have no kids. 15 more years.......oh man, I hope that they still let us fly our own airplanes then.

Then again, if my base color was charcoal I wouldn't have to worry about that anymore

Gerry this is really a nice project. Thanks for sharing with us. When are you expecting to fly. I look forward to the part where you start discussing avionics! Good luck

Good luck It's expected to be done around Thanksgiving. I already know what avionics I'm going to use. I'm having the G3X Touch system installed.

I won't be the first Evo to have the G3X installed. From what I've been told the autopilot works just as good if not better than the G700 autopilot that comes with the G900X.
