Don't know any other manufacturer who has done that, so yes, other aircraft makers are different. Mike C. Cessna with the Skycatcher. Worked out great. Also, come to think of it, Icon.

Jet, turbine, turboprop, tomato tomato. Is it not all about getting from Point A to Point B with as little hassle as possible?
I don't let PAX use the word "jet" around me.. It's "ducted turbofan" or "Non ducted turbofan".

Getting a G1 at their contract price is highly unlikely now. Cirrus has found a way to offer, as the G2, stuff that was already promised (like AT), make a few minor tweaks of no cost otherwise, and charge more than a $1M more for it. As a plus, there will be a chorus singing their praises for being so innovative that the they held back these tweaks until now. Mike C.
With options and interest, the G1 was effectively around 1.8M. Basically no one is buying the basic plane as priced in the contract. The G2 effectively raises the price for early position holders to 2M via new options.
Note: This was from just one poster doing the math who expects delivery in late 2019. I do not have the contracts.

You're welcome Good start on marketing the Ciholas Twinjet, but I think we need to punch the marketing up just a bit more. Ciholas is kind of hard to pronounce, so I propose we change the name to the “Starcatcher Twinjet”. The advertising tagline should be “It’s not a Cirrus!”

This sort of reminds me of that $35k Tesla I was promised I could buy. If you want the G2..... you gotta pay. Otherwise take the G1. This is why I'd never buy the 1st year anything. You gotta take emotion (pissed) out of the equation. Cirrus is selling SF50's whether you are pissed or not. The next step is more power and a "I'm landing unless you stop me" button.

I'm not seeing it that way. PC24 is going through the same thing. The first one's off the line are sucking but they're already upgrading and getting new certifications. I think folks that put contracts in 10 years ago were doing it based on how folks did it back the 1970's. Nowadays you can easily "de-bug" a new product by releasing it. The changes come fast now. It's truly pointless nowadays to be first in line for a new product. It's going to get instantly upgraded upon release.

Announcing the Ciholas Design Model 1986 "Double Entendre":
TWO of everything including a two seat lav so you can hold hands during turbulence
TWO fire breathing NOS Fouga Astafan engines sourced from the Ukraine for $50K each (Suck it SF50 and you Beechtalk Haters!)
TWO wing spar carry throughs capable of surviving a VNE dive into a class 5 thunderstorm (even if you can't)
TWO crack pilots (who still use rotary dial phones) to monitor the gauges and fly those NDB approaches by hand.
TWO materials make up the entire aircraft structure... steel and aluminum, none of this overpriced carbon fiber and thermoplastic.
TWO doors to leave the aircraft, but no provision for a parachute (sorry piston thinkers)
TWO placards denoting the model 1986 designation, named for the last year of MU-2 production and the zenith of aviation understanding.
Available for the pre-production price of (you guessed it).... TWO MILLION DOLLARS!
