They are stuck selling G1 below cost, so bring out a G2 at increased price. Quote: In the meantime, you can still order the G1.... Unlikely. Choice will be transfer to G2 at increased price, or have your deposit back, no airplane. Maintaining a production flow of mixed G1 and G2 is inefficient and costly. Contract clause: 5.01 - Cirrus reserves the right to substitute equipment other than that specified in this Order or Aircraft components other than those set forth in the Aircraft specifications whenever such substitution is deemed necessary to prevent delay in delivery or to improve the Aircraft. Purchaser specifically acknowledges that some of the equipment intended to be in the Aircraft may not be available in time to meet the Delivery Date. Purchaser agrees that Cirrus may substitute “like equipment” to the extent that it is available. In the event such substituted equipment has a different “retail value,” Cirrus shall adjust the Purchase Price up or down accordingly.Basically, we improved the aircraft, price went up, take it or leave it. Gives Cirrus pretty wide powers to change things as they see fit. Mike C.

Tim And G3 will add auto-taxi, auto-land and 3 hour SIC rating with the computer being the PIC. Genius move on their part, I bet most will want out of the G1 contract and will sign right up for the G2 with the corresponding price increase. There goes Mike's #1 concern out of the window.

A toggle switched got flipped somewhere in the FADEC software. Bet you it was a lot of hard work. This was their plan from day one. Sounds to me like they will stay in business for a long, long time. They know what they are doing.

Mike C.
This is why you have no credibility. You are constantly treating your own biased views as empirical fact. You have no idea what the profit or loss on each airframe shipped may be.

But it can't get certified above FL250 because it's a single.
