Jason,

Thanks for the info, hope Pilatus addresses most of the issues with Apex and the PC-12 in the 24. Just sent info to the VP, then we saw the 2017 delivery date! Really, Pilatus not cool. Way things are moving probably be in a Citation XLS by end of year. We would keep PC-12 but wouldn't commit to an PC-24 till about 3-5 years into production.

Would have been nice to have a all Pilatus flt department in 2 years or so. After all Pilatus spent a lot of RD with Grob already.

Regards,

Nigel

Yeah. 2017 is good ways off. Why market it now? Seems like you should launch and be ready to deliver

I've had a mask not fit well at FL250 and one can lose perspective pretty quickly.

Best,

+1 Single Pilot on O2 above FL350.

Jason Crandall: Never heard of this 02 requirement you guys are talking about. But even if it is real and you're the only pilot on board, who is gonna know?

Answer: You will, in less than 60 seconds at that altitude

:D

Is this the only thing we can find to bash single pilot jets on? Is this even an issue?

I wear the O2 masks in the Pilatus for fun just to scare people. It's not a big deal. They're comfy.

FAR 91.211 covers requirements for part 91 pressurized aircraft above fl 250.

I always don the mask while above FL350. True story.

Nope.

I bought a windows 7 laptop for $700 just to do the uploads. It stays in the plane and I cannot use it for anything else.

Strange indeed.

It's the weirdest thing ever. Who could design something that poorly? You know up front it needs updates. It's just software. But I need 300amps from a gpu, a dedicated laptop and and hour of my life? Weird.

I do the updates myself btw. Most guys at my airport pay the service center to do them $150.

. . . I can't begin to imagine what an hour of your time is worth! :D

I like doing it. I need to know I can do it if I'm somewhere else and it needs to be done. It's not easy to do. You practically need to be able to read code to pull it off. It's not self explanatory. It's very difficult.

I've got $10 that says your son can do it in about 1/2 that time! :duck:

It may be a holdover from Honneywell's airline avionics. There this updating is handled by mechanics and since they are usually doing an inspection at the same time, it doesn't matter much that it takes a half hour to load the new data.

I am sure owner/operator is their smallest market segment and that with which they still have the least experience.

But owner operators is really the fastest growing market and has been for years. It is what Cirrus mostly represents and the direction Cessna is going with all the small and mid size jets. Embrear has also moved in this direction....
