It's an excellent video. Yes, it's hyperbolic with the "I'm smarter, and the plane's smarter" gimmick, but what a product.

Their interiors are works of art.

I'm also wondering if there's a product to fit the gap between the G6 and the Visionjet.

G6 1 mil. M500 2 mil. SF50 2.8 mil. The M500 fits quite nicely in there.

A SETP is not in between a piston and a jet. The acquisition cost of a SETP is the same if not more than a jet.
Just saw a SETP Lancair IVP for sale and it made me wonder there's room in the Cirrus product line for a 5-place pressurized SETP.

But if there's not enough room in the price range to shoe horn it in, it wouldn't make sense. I'm guessing it would have to run about $300-400K above the G6 in price. Probably can't get the engine an pressurization for that delta.

How much is a G600? How much is a TBM? It’s gonna cost millions more.

I have a little sticker next to my Hobbs that tells me that. No internet connection required. :D

John, people said similar things about the first gen iPhone. We already had digital cameras. We already had music players. We even already had touch screen mobile devices. Why does anyone need this, and what can it do that others devices can't? Well, we all know how that worked out.

Will this connected app transform GA like the iPhone transformed our lives? No. But IoT and connected devices is the present and future. And like the iPhone, once the "platform" is in place, who knows what transformational, and mundane, things it will do.

By way of example, what if...it could do what Savvy Analysis does now, or more? Track, chart and analyze your engine data and flag issues you aren't aware of before they become catastrophic? With virtually no action on your part, other than having your phone with you when you fly.

Spot the rhythmic EGT pattern of a failing exhaust valve. Or intermittent fuel flows of a failing fuel pump. Or abnormal CHTs. Whatever.

Can this be done today? Yes, with limitations, and it's very clunky. At best it involves a Savvy Analysis subscription, downloading the data from engine monitor to a jump drive, uploading the flight data to Savvy's site, and then relying on Savvy to analyze the data and report the issue to you.

And oh, he doesn't have every second of data for every Cirrus flying with this app (though he obviously does have lots of data across many plane makes and models). Cirrus could/would, leveraging cloud computing. This data set would be incredibly powerful when trying to spot anomalies and variances. Identify issues across the fleet. Head off...chute pulls and insurance claims.

As soon as a pilot shuts down the G6, the data is automatically uploaded and the analysis can take place automatically. Nothing I need to do as a pilot.

That is...transformational.

If this take root, and it will, Savvy risks becoming the Palm or Blackberry of engine analysis. Poof. Gone. Innovate or die. The primal law of the tech jungle.

Need to go now. Need to take some pics of my dogs with my Kodak Instamatic. :D

There are a lot of planes currently available in the owner flown cross country market. They are nicely spaced with price very closely correlating to some combination of range, payload, ceiling, weather capability, technology and speed. Those planes in no particular order but rough actual cost include the SR22, DA42, M350, DA62, M500, SF50, M600, TBM940, Hondajet, M2, And maybe even the Pilatus. Today is the best time in history to buy a capable and safe aircraft for the owner market. The only downside is that all these planes are relatively expensive. But if you had the money, they are amazing.

Oh, I dunno that it's only women......have you seen some of the uniforms coming out on college football fields lately??? "Oh, we don't have just the traditional home color and away white uniforms here! Here, we have 462 possible uniform combinations!!!" :coffee:

So no, I don't think the whole color thing is aimed at just women.

And the idea of having some moron pilot in a marketing video tell you that your plane is ready to go because you checked your phone is beyond irresponsible. That's what I mean by dumb.

I got wide-eyed at that comment too, but she followed it up by saying that you do your preflight.

In fairness to the dumb statement, I've only twice found something other than fuel, oil, or tire pressure that kept a plane from being "ready to go" when I did my preflight, and I've only flown rental/CAP/club planes that are being flown by multiple pilots.

I'm surprised that they didn't include remote tire pressure sensors on their list of upgrades. With wheel pants on that seems like one of the biggest pains in the butt.

I never thought stereo would catch on, either. "Who needs more than one channel of music?"

Great video.... I'm going to go apply for a job at Cirrus. I love it. :D

I finally got around to watching the video - not sure how I missed this but most of the ground shots were filmed at my home field (VBT). The Fieldhouse is our restaurant and the circular apron was just added last year. Pretty cool!/

With Cirrus doing so much dumb stuff, I don't know how they stay in business.

They're not in business. The FAA wouldn't certify their stuff so they went bankrupt. Too much "piston think".

Really there is no argument to be made by anyone but Cirrus. They are selling 350 a year.

They are the ONLY show in town. Nothing comes close to what they are selling. Who doesn’t want to be on the cutting edge of tech? Everyone wants to feel like they are cool.

Cirrus makes piston singles cool again.

I like it.

Maybe Cirrus is trying to emulate John Deere by incorporating remote diagnostics?
