Adam, thank you for that fix. I did not realize that youtube was automatically making a secure link.

GAMI spread is now down to .4 GPH and runs fine down to -50F LOP. Have not run it leaner yet. I'm thinking that maybe # 4 and #6 should be adjusted down one more size to tighten the spread further.

Also showing a shot of the 45 minute reserve and full range fuel ring display on the map. Very neat feature. As you can see the ring adjusts according to winds. Bad day to go NW and good day to go SE.

Met with the interior guy today. Have decided to go all out on the interior with Mercedes carpet and Porsche leather and headliner material. It is going to be spectacular.

Love the range ring. If I'm going for endurance, I can simply lean until the reserve ring is where I'm comfortable. Then I can get best speed while keeping the range needed.

I may never have to do that for an actual trip, but it's cool to see the effects.

A Shadin FF will do almost the same thing as the range ring. Just set gallons reserve at your destination and lean or reduce power until you get the required reserve. The range ring is a nice addition.

Good evening gentlemen, yes to both. The Shadin is a great tool. I was running it at 72% power. If I would have pulled back to 65% and climbed another 6k ft my range would have extended 100 miles past Key West. Going NW would have been another story. The nice thing about the ring is the ability to adjust your power an visually see what is happening. It also tells you instantly what alternative airports you have available if you come up short. I love this plane.

Normal takeoff after visiting the interior shop. Was 110 lbs under gross with a 10 knot headwind. Was off the ground in 1000 ft and passed the camera at 100 knots and then pulled up into a 4k per minute climb at 105 knots (best climb speed) and maintained that ROC up to 3k before reducing to a 2200 FPM climb at 140 knots.

careful with that, I just went through an interior job on my lancair trying to get the same materials in my ferrari matched up for the job. the best bet is to simply match the colors and for the leather, the source of the cattle- i.e, free range, no barb wire, well fed cattle so the hides are larger than normal

the critical part is then making sure all of the materials meet the FAA recommended fire standards for emulsion/burn characteristics (FAR 25.853(a), Amendment 25-100, Passes Appendix F, Part I (a)(1)(i)& (ii))

as a tip, a good source for these materials that we ended up using is green hides aeronautica lines (http://www.greenhides.com/aviation_aeronautica.html)

my last tip is, order the materials yourself, and take them to the upholstery shop- this will save you the tax rate on the materials, every dollar counts!

also head 28v seat heaters installed on these

I did the same thing.
Additional tip: Since there is some latitude on how to design the stitching lines, pocket holders, etc, etc., I took my car down to the interior shop and said here, match this. He took a bunch of pictures and did match my car. I've had a few European deliveries of my car, and as a "frequent visitor", got the behind the scenes tour of the design shops and engine shop. They know what they are doing. If it's good enough for my car, it's good enough for Red Bo.

Not too worried about the burn certs. If the interior is on fire that means that the fuselage is on fire and it does not matter. There are no wires, fuel lines, oil lines, or anything else to cause ignition running through my sidewalls, headliners, or under the carpet. The plane would be on fire before the interior would be. Also, your 28V seat heaters are the biggest fire hazard in your plane. We have had thermal runaways on them where it gave the customer burns on their legs before they could get out of the car. We replace about a half dozen seat assemblies per year due to failed seat heaters that completely burn up the seats.

Interesting perspective

I'll take every advantage I can in a post crash fire scenario, to each his own!

That is just it - the airframe itself is a fire hazard. It will burn and make more toxic fumes than the interior will. The interior physically cannot catch on fire unless you light it with a match as there is no wiring near any of the interior. It all runs under the wing and floor boards. Post crash, if you are still alive, if the airframe is on fire you better get out quickly as the fumes will overtake you quickly. The interior is a non factor.
