That's gorgeous! So much for a minimalist panel ready for an upgrade

...at least this way you get to fly it sooner

Congrats!!! RV's are the best designed airplanes on the Market! Including Beech Products...

But with that said, there is a brand new service bulletin out on the horizontal... I'm sure you know, but just to make sure....

You will LOVE the RV...

They do so many things well... Great X/C, Great IFR, Great Gentlemen's Acro, Great Formation ship, Great operating costs, Great Speed, It is very hard to find fault in a well built RV....

The only thing Better is a Rocket...

Arlen,

Did you look at the Lancair Legacy? I am just curious, how they compare since they seem to be aimed at the same market.

Briefly, and not seriously. I got some ride and fly time in a couple RVs in December -- that sealed it.

Keep reading. It isn't "The Nine Commandments." :ahhh:

Doh!

Exodus 20:17

"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's."

Guess I missed that last part. Gotta get myself to church more regularly.

Forgive me father for I have sinned...

At least I'm not coveting Arlen's ass...

Arlen:

I made a similar choice last fall. Fast enough and sips fuel! Plus I can still jump in the 182 if I need to carry a load or fly IFR. This one is VFR only (at the moment).

Really nice one. Congrats.
Love the roll rate on those rv's. you barely touch it and it responds.

Good on ya for the tail wheel version. They just look fast sitting on the ramp. Bet you'll pay a lot more attention to those crosswind component numbers now. ;)

This . . .

Is . . .

Not . . . .

Good!

I have spent the last week looking at various "fun" planes online, from Champs to Citabrias to biplanes, to . . .

But I haven't looked at the RV.

Damn you Arlen!!

:duck:

My next door neighbor had two RV6 and they were both great. My other had two glassairs.......one with an o-540.....that was lots of fun. Great choice!

Go practice on grass. Much more forgiving when learning tailwheel.

True. But if you master pavement then you are good to go anywhere. I say get a good instructor and practice on what you're going to land on most of the time.

Regardless…

Arlen,

Congratulations!!! I think RV's are great airplanes. I love to watch guys who really know them fly them. I want to fly one or in one some day. Can't wait to hear your first PIREPS. :pilot:

Congrats, I've only flown a 9 but it was great. I would rather have a 10 than a Cirrus.

Congrats on the purchase. I'm just finishing the metal work and mounting the main gear on my -8. To those thinking about building…….it is a lot of work. I sure hope it is worth it.

I admire people who have that kind of dedication. I think it'd be cool to start building an RV if/when we have kids - maybe start when he's about 8 or 9 - and finish it about the time he finishes his license... and then hand him the keys after he gets his PPL.
