Exactly; It's not good . . . it's not bad . . . it is what it is. Face it, Cirrus is blowing Beech away in sales right now. Beechcraft must evolve to meet the demands of the market or they will die. It's simple, Evolve or Die. Change is not optional.

I haven't quite figured him out yet, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually live what he posts all the time. I think he gets a kick out of getting everyone worked up.
Kinda funny at times I have to admit.............
I'm standing right here. Why you writing like I can't read or something? I believe what I'm writing. What I want to know is why does what I'm writing get SOME people so worked up? I'm speaking the truth. Do you not see what I see?
Yes, I do see what you see at times. You, no doubt have done things right. That being said, I think your perspective is very interesting at times and look forward to maybe meeting you in person some day.

Username Protected wrote: btw why do you say fixed gear is the only drawback? it kinda isn't and some would consider it an advantage.. esp since it doesn't affect performance significantly I don't think it's a draw back in reality. I just don't like it. Fixed gear=Clown plane. Let's not talk about it.

Crandall...I love your posts. You represent a point of view that ought to become more predominant in our flying.
Take me...I am still working around the decision to buy my business airplane. I get all the stick and rudder fun I need with my Cub. And yes, that kicks me up to another level, but...
When I fly for business, I just want to go just like I did in my F33. Take off, kick on the AP and shut it off when I am getting close to the runway. I twist the knobs and get there. I really don't care what hand flying my business airplane is like. Hell, if I could type in Miami and get there, I would.
Compared to the Cub...compared to most of the gliders I have flown...compared to the RV8 I used to fly...the Bo is a truck. No offense, guys, but that's a fact. Sure, it is a great handling truck...but...
And for business flying, I don't much care about the "quality" of the flying experience...I just care about being fresh when I get there.
Jason? Take your point and add a big +1 to it from me.
Jim

Jason,
I do. But you state things in absolutes when there is more often a shade of gray. I just like to point it out, I am somewhat a contrarian and do not believe in many absolutes.
In the XC market, you are correct; avionics, safety (real or perceived), fit and finish are the basis for marketing to rule the day. In this case, the GA piston market is being cleaned up by Cirrus, Diamond and Cessna. Diamond and Cessna are chasing Cirrus, but they are following the same general approach. I have started to see not just Cirrus ads, but even an occasional Diamond and more Cessna ads in computer mags.

That is the number one, most important concept that everyone in aviation and here at BT can come to terms with right now. That is the future of airplanes.

So, far the older Cirrus I have seen with a some hours on them look like a POS. Maybe they should just call them the throw away plane. You should have looked at my 10 year old Cirrus last week Russ! it still looks new in every aspect. Like every airplane, if you baby it and hangar it the results will show.
