My mechanic hates them, but loves my Bo! He thinks the Bo flies better!

Ale,

First of all, Congrats on your new "plane".

I am going withhold my thoughts until my policy renewal in May. :tape:

I do want to tell you that I will be reading all the fine print on my policy renewal papers very carefully to make sure that this kind of aviation judgement & decision making does not permeate other areas of your work. :cross: :cross: :cross:

Hmm, seems quite the coincidence that Ale announces he has a new plane/expense the same day I get my renewel notice from his office.
Sure hope my rate isn't going up!

Congrats Ale! :D

Those are still the short-legged ones ? They have certainly hit an attractive price point. I have heard good things about that autopilot.
Are those upgrade expenses something that can be written off under section 179 ?

I don't understand the justification of "Business Plane." Mine, too, but mine is still a Bo.

I do get the appeal of the chute. Just not enough to give up a plane that flies and looks like it does. Not to mention, I'd really miss the feeling and the way it looks when you pull that gear in. I love that. Still.

But you're still flying! Keeping the main thing the main thing. Enjoy!

I think I figured it out. He has maxed out his Bo business and now he is going to go get all the Cirrus business.

Congrats Alej!!

Going from a single vintage Bo to a "two plane hanger" seems to indicate that business is doing well. That is always a good thing.

I really do not investigate into "higer end / price" planes like the Cirrus. But it does seem like for a recent vintage plane (up to 10 yrs old) they offer a lot for the $$$. However, maintenance costs seem to be quite a bit higher than comparable "tin" planes, if real comparisons really valid.

Best of luck with the new ride.

Congrats Ale!

I flew our 2004 SR22 for 256 hours and loved it.

I loved the big doors -- on BOTH sides.
I loved the speed.
I loved the side stick.
I loved the glass cockpit.
The parachute was a bonus.

It'll be fun to fly, and it's a nice traveling machine.

Stay out of ice -- it's severely affected rather quickly.
Watch your speed on final -- it really wants to float and use up runway if you're too fast.
Remember to look outside the plane -- all the gadgetry in there is mesmerizing.

Have FUN!

I would like to see the spread sheet and your calculations where you think a Cirrus is cheaper to own and operate than a Bo.

Now if you wanted a Cirrus no problem. Its a nice color BTW. But I find it hard to believe the Cirrus is cheaper to own.

I completely understand, he bought a Bo and signed us all up, he buys a Cirrus signs them all up, next all the Pilatus' Brilliant business plan!
