I also will tell you that K-9s do not always hit on everything they search. There are good and bad people in every profession. Please don't let the few bad apples taint all the good work the others do. As for those pilots who are confronted by law enforecrment the one thing I highly recommend is that they be as polite and calm as possible and usually the same is returned.

PS: Is there a way to do do spell check on this site? lol George, You and Keith are the exception. I've NEVER seen cops tell the truth in court, even a judge outright lied the last time, but fortunately do go there much anymore. Unfortunately for the good ones, you are out numbered with the bad ones. It's an epidemic, and as a result there are a lot of us that just outright hate cops or just don't trust them. I'm not quite that far, yet. While I have some very good friend that are cops and are basically good folks, they do some totally illegal stuff I can't believe they even admit to me! Scary. Best to you in trying to correct this issue.

I have been reading this thread, telling myself that I won't be drawn into it. BUT, I cannot and will not let this statement go. I have also been a Law Enforcement Officer since 1983 and I can assure you that I have NEVER lied in Court. I also know many Criminal Defense Attorneys, and even consider some of them my friends. There are a few however, that feel they could never lose a case unless some cop lied on the stand. That does not make them correct, only INCOMPETENT.

I too, was going to stay out of this. But, I can say for certain I am much more concerned about the "good guys" than the bad guys. With the bad guys I have at least an even chance. I do my best to avoid ALL LEO as much as I can. I do not trust any of them!

Tyler, No, I do not agree with DHS telling local law enforcement that.
Ronnie, I think you are very misguided in your thinking if you really believe that you feel safer dealing with criminals than cops. You may not like the cops, but you are really out there in left field with that one..LOL You should come ride with me on a shift sometime and maybe you just might have a different perspective.

I've seen rumbles that spell check doesn't work or is unreliable in v.4.0. Can't say anything about that, one way or the other. If you use IE, there's a no-cost add on called "IESpell" that seemed to do a good job when I was using IE. http://www.iespell.com/

George, I did not mean for this to get personal but... In interest of full disclosure I have never been arrested, accused, locked up for any reason in my 60+ years. No DUI's only minor traffic violations. However, the facts are simple. If you are a small town cop, county deputy or state patrol your job is to take in money. You serve no other purpose. In Alabama we had a law passed a few years ago called the speed trap law. Many small towns including one with in 5 miles of where I live filed bankruptcy. I lived next door to a city cop for years. Nice guy, got along fine untill he put on the Sam Brown belt. In uniform I left him alone and he left me alone. Riding with you anywhere would do no good. It is possible they are a few cops out there that do want to protect and serve. You may be one of them, if so good. When you move into the federal LEO you run into the ones that simply like their job so thay can harrass people. They can lie, deceive anyway they want to and get away with it. I personally do not believe there is a cop anywhere that has not told a lie in and out of court. Whatever it takes to make his/her case. I will absolutely take my chances with the criminal anytime over dealing with a LEO. If LEO is following me I will pull off into a public place as soon as I can. I don't make eye contact nor do I talk to one. You are ALWAYS better off avoiding LEO's. That is my take and the way I feel, if this gets me banned so be it.

Sam, that statement is part of the problem. "Garbage" really? Not bashing cops, just telling the truth. The slogan "To Protect and Serve" should be to "collect and harrass" While you are at it throw in the jack ass procecutors and judges.

Ronnie Yes, Garbage. The wife-beaters, the murderers, the rapists, the gang-bangers, the pedophiles, the drug-dealers, etc. If I had to deal with that every day for a few years, I might find myself a little jaded.
