What?! It's not like I asked him how much he paid for his wife's wedding ring. LOL It's a service he is offering, no different than if he had a plane on here for sale.

So this is like every appraiser that I have interacted with, you need my service but I am not at liberty to tell you what it will cost - even a ballpark figure. Call me, and I can tell you a price after i know the value of the airplane.
I don’t call for airplanes that say call for price (which is also echoed by most on this site), I don’t talk to car dealers that won’t tell me how much a car costs, and I don’t order “market price” food without knowing the price.
All of those feel slimy to me, not saying this is, but I would never call for this service because I need an expectation of what it costs. If I think that the service is worth X and you tell me 2x or 3x, we have wasted time for all involved.
If you are selling something, a ballpark is a very reasonable ask. At least a “”SE FG would be x-y, a SE complex expect y-x, a piston twin is about YY”. You aren’t traveling, it’s all bookwork, seems to me it’s not that hard to give a range.
Brad
Edit: To respond to the -1 from John Patek, I am sorry I offended you with my opinion and the way that I do business, I didn't realize that differing opinions weren't allowed on BT.

Thanks, he must have posted while I was typing my response, that didn’t exist when I was adding my opinion.
Kudos to Chip for being transparent, but his post below that one said that he couldn't post the price

Correct, our fee schedule on acquisitions varies per type of aircraft and we include our travel expenses in a flat fee. So our fee is actually thousands of dollars less than someone who charges the same amount but adds on expenses at the end. Plus, some types of aircraft include a aircraft specific technical expert and their travel expenses. Add to that the fact that we do everything from $1M King Airs to $20M Citations and Challengers and everything in between and it simply gets too complex to publish.
However, if you call and say you want to purchase a $5M Citation CJ3, I can explain what we offer, that it includes a Citation A&P / technical expert, and exactly what the fee will be. We get paid in 3rds, 1/3 to start the project, 1/3rd when we find the airplane and 1/3rd at closing.
Everything is clear, up front and transparent. We don't even charge credit card fees!

Thanks Bruce, we're going with Go/No-Go!
I wanted to start a new thread that says Go/No-Go, instead of Deal/No Deal, but I was afraid Mike C. would lose it!

I too like Go / No Go.
$5k seems reasonable depending on the value of the airframe and your recent experience with that type in the market. I’d have paid that on my Meridian acquisition.

I suspect you’ll save the average turbine buyer about 10x what you charge. Of course the challenge is those who need advice the most don’t appreciate the value of said advice. Operation normal! Good luck Chip!
