In my estimate, the G3's with the Avidyne R9 system is the absolute best value. The R9 is as capable as the Perspective, costs in the neighborhood of $70k to install, and caries next to no extra cost. It's remarkable.

Would I rather have the Perspective? Absolutely. But we're talking value.

BTW, mine is Perspective, and I love it.

That's the second time I've been busted for that....

I'll have to figure out how to do that fuzzy thing like they do with license plates. ;)

Just fly in the flight levels and then you can set it and forget and not worry about those pesky pressure changes.....

Everytime I post a photo on BT or share one with a fellow pilot, I check over every detail cuz I know someone with more time on their hands than I have will comb over it and find some piddly mistake.

Don't people like that just drive you nuts??

I agree with your sales guy - G3 and newer - 2008 and Newer

Why is the 2008 G3 and newer the version to get? Is turbocharged the way to go? I understand the G3 is best value but what about it makes it such?

Thank you!

In addition to what others have said Cirrus has continually improved the quality of the construction and finishes of the product. If you look closely at a 2006 model compared to later ones I think you will see that. With that said I have two friends with very early SR20's that have been repainted, and how has had the seats recovered, and they look stunning. All of them fly remarkably well.

Value wise hard to argue! I took my first S22 ride in an R9 G3 just the other day. Very cool avionics system and I really liked the plane. I've always thought the Cirrus was an impressive plane but it didn't really sing to me because they were all the same. Seen one, seen them all.. or so I thought. One thing I love about Bonanza's is looking around, peeking inside and seeing what all an owner has done. But now I'm starting to see different customizations on Cirrus planes too, custom paint jobs, etc and that's pretty cool. They are very nice airplanes.
